are we crazy to even think of it?...unfortunately not at wdw, at Vero Beach, maybe Sebastian Inlet. ( Business related trip)

we've camped at wdw in Dec and Jan but never in the summer. we do NOT have air in the camper van or might use a tent.

any advice on bugs, weather, temperatures will be very appreciated.

Are you crazy? No. Will you be uncomfortable without air in August...probably.
As for bugs, mosquitoes are at their peak then, but you can use bug repellant for that.
Weather is unpredictable, other than the guarantee it will be hot and humid. Probably in the mid 90's for the high, low 80's for the low.The chance of afternoon thunderstorms are good. We have two near hurricanes coming at us as of this moment, but they are unpredictable too, not a reason to not come to Florida, to me anyway.
Honestly, if you can wait, I'd go towards the end of Sept., mainly because of the no a/c situation, but if you don't mind sweating then you'll be ok.
Have fun whatever you decide!
