Rental Cars at Resorts

Has anyone ever rented a car from a DW resort? We are going the end of August and staying at PO-Riverside, and really want to go offsite to a few other attractions, but the rental car prices right now are outrageous to get one for 9 days. I was thinking of just renting a car for a day or two and taking mears to and from the airport. I have hard bad things about mears, and have used them in the past - but this is a leisure vacation for us, so that is not a big concern. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thanks!!

We have rented cars at WDW National for a day or two, there are 3 locations the Swan, the Dolphin and at the Car Care Center. I would make the reservations ahead of time just to be sure that they will have a vehicle for you. We have also rented a car at WDW and left it at the airport the day we leave, there is no extra charge for the dropoff. National has a shuttle service that will pick you up at your resort.

We have rented a car from Dollar located at Couryard by Marriott located in DownTown Disney. We just rode the bus to the marketplace, and walked up the road. Only a couple minute walk. Their rates are usually lower than some of the other rental places. A lot of the other hotels have car rentals also along that road
