Hi
I was curious as to what everyone does to manage their spending money. Basically each of us are going to have x-amount to spend on whatever we'd like. (all food, bar, snacks are separate)
Contemplating whether to just put everything on the room charge and try to keep track, each just has their amount in travelers checks to use (tracking by what you have left) or looking for other ideas. I'm worried we won't be the best about keeping up with receipts, etc. I was wondering what everyone else does that has "specified" spending money per person.
Thanks!

We usually have an envelope each day that has our allotted spending money in cash and travelers checks. I print on the outside of the envelopes the park hours and any PS confirmation numbers.
My husband wants to put it all on our credit card this time, recording what we've spent. I'm not to hip on this, but we'll see how it goes.

For the "fun factor" it's hard to beat Disney Dollars. They come in their own envelopes with a window cut out so you can see Mickey (or the characters on the other denominations) peeking out. They come in ones, fives, and tens. You can request as many envelopes as bills when you purchase them, so everyone in your group can be sure to have their own. I find that they are so cute, I'm a little more reluctant to spend them than cold hard cash!
I'm using my Pay Pal Preferred debit card to buy them at my local Disney Store so that I can earn cash back on their purchase. And I fund my Pay Pal account with my ING money so it's already earned interest on top of that! Keep in mind however that you can not use a credit/debit card to buy Disney Dollars on property -- I found that out the hard way in February. For whatever reason, Disney Stores have a different policy.

ksoehrlein,
Disney Dollars would be fun!
If you don't spend all you Disney Dollars can you convert them back to cash?

We used the room key which was attached to our debit card for most everything except the concession carts in the parks (which I think may now accept room keys??) It was an easy way to keep track of what you were spending as you get a printout of all of your purchases. I saw a commercial for American Express travelers checks that now can be purchased in the form of a debit card....looks pretty neat....we may have to try it!
