It's that time again for us to do house cleaning on our budget. We got our Disney Visa last year. In the beginning, I used it enough to get $40.00 reward $ for our April04 trip. I did get the Visa Kids Free promotion - which later came out to the general public, but without the $100.00 Disney Dollars at checkin.

We have never received any double/triple point offers. The offers that do show up under our account are things we would never use. As a matter of fact, the last time I used it was a $15 charge in April on our vacation at Disney. For example, I can remember discount tickets on Broadway shows, get Friends and Family to sign up and they will get $50.00, buy 3 get 1 free video offer, Disneyland hotel discounts, etc.

Do you think I am not getting offers because we do not use it enough? After reading various threads here, there does not seem to be a rhyme or reason to how people are chosen for offers.

Anyway, have a lot of you canceled?

This is just a another Visa rewards card, but instead of earning mileage on an airline you earn credits on a reward card that can be used at Disney.

It is not a replacement for the now defunct Disney Club. There are a few "offers" but as you have discovered they are not that significant.

If there was an annual fee, I would probably cancel it. I switched from an American Airlines Advantage reward card that did have a hefty fee.

I choose to charge EVERYTHING on my card and am very happy to claim the rewards, but I do not EVER carry a balance.

It sounds like you prefer not to charge your purchases, but that's basically the only way to get any significant advantage from having this card.

I have been keeping it and using it mostly to earn $$ for our upcoming trip. I am seriously thinking about canceling it after that trip. Other than this trip, there are not much in the way of advantages to it. But, I think alot of the credit cards are getting a bit stingy in the benefits. They sure are making money on us consumers hand-over-fist, though, aren't they? :sunny:

I may still keep my card after our Sept. trip but will not be charging to it as frequently. The only reason I'll keep it is to take advantage off any special offers. I won't be using it to build up points.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who gets offers. I used mine heavily and did not get the offers. I always pay off my balance.

I use mine all the time in hopes of a nice rewards balance for a January trip. That will likely be our last family trip to WDW so I won't use the card for everyday things anymore. I don't shop at the Disney store or buy videos and such, so the rewards would be pretty meaningless. As it is in my name and not my husband's, I will keep the account open for my own credit rating and use it only occasionally.

I have not received a bonus offer, but have received a lot of points in just 2 months. I would think, based on what I have charged to the card, that they would offer me something to get me to Disney. I have put several vacation on the card, as well as a Holland America cruise. Aparently, they don't care that I do travel a lot, just not to Disney.

I cancelled mine because I get better rewards with another card.

I've put my card away because I have reached my yearly limit of rewards that I will get from them. I have not received any great offers either. So its not that you aren't spending enough, I'm proof of that!

I have never used our Disney Visa. They issued me a ridiculously low credit limit despite an extremely good credit score. I get far better rewards using my Marriott Visa (also from Bank One). I haven't bothered to cancel the Disney card because I kept hoping they would improve their rewards program but obviously that will never happen. One of these days, I'll cancel it just to get it off the books.

I wish I knew their rational - I too have a Marriott Visa - I quit using it because the limit is too low to be of use. I pay mine off each month but I would get to a point each month where I couldn't charge anymore. My Disney Visa has a huge limit - more than I would ever need.

I haven't used my Disney Visa for about six months. I also keep holding on to it in hopes that better offers will come around. I'll give it a little more time, but then I'm sure I'll cancel it.

I also have two cards thru bank one. I called about the credit limit thing. This is what I found out - They only give a combined credit limit for all cards. I had my split between my cards so I could charge more on the Disney card now before my trip.

I have been paying my card more than monthly to help keep away interest charges.
