We don't fly often and I have 2 pretty simple questions. Last month I booked our round-trip airfare for September through Delta. Since I had vouchers from a previous trip, I had to call their reservations desk to book.

1) When I got the tickets in the mail, there are no seating assignments. I had asked when I made reservations and was told they would be included with our tickets, but there's nothing. Can I get those in advance, or do I have to wait until we check in?

2) Fares have now dropped for internet bookings through Delta's website. Can I request vouchers for the difference, even though I reserved over the phone?

Thanks for the wonderful, always friendly advice!

If you are currently holding reservations with Delta, all you need to do is call them up on the phone and talk to an agent. Tell them you have your tickets and you would like to see if you can get advance seat assignments. They will probably ask for your conformation number, or just your name and dates and flight numbers. It should not be an issue. They get that kind of request all the time. In regard to the tickets being lower now on the Internet, you can ask. I have not had much experience with having to get vouchers so maybe someone else can offer more information, but it never hurts to ask.

If you have a SkyMiles number and it is on the tickets you can also pick your own seat on their internet site.

In regards to getting your seat assignment, just call Delta's 1-800 number and you should be able to get your seats assigned. With the lower airfares on the internet, usually they won't give you the reduced fare to an internet fare, unless you originally booked an internet fare. But of course it doesn't hurt to ask!!!!

generally if you book your tkts with the general sales nbr and the fare goes down on the internet they will not give you the difference. if you had booked it online to begin with then yes they give you the difference. as for your seat assignments they no longer issue the boarding passes with the tkts. they are now issued day of departure. call and ask them if you do indeed have seat assignments. if so note them for yourself and then when you get to the airport on day of departure let them know that you do have seat assignments. the reason they don't like to put them on the tkts is because of schedule changes.

Delta's phone # for the Internet site is 888-750-3284. That's the number given to me for questions I had about booking online.
