one day car rental?

We are wondering about renting a car for one day only to get us from hifs to Universal Studios and back instead of taking the shuttle - which will run us a bout $20 round trip per person (we have 7 people!) I'm thinking that renting a car for a day might actually be cheaper than that. Does anyone know if you can rent a car from priceline for just one day and can you get good rates for one day rentals? Or, does anyone have any other suggestions for getting from hifs to Universal - taxi, bus, etc? Thanks a lot!

Using Priceline for a one day rental is no different from a multi-day rental. Car rentals are for 24 hour periods. There is no penalty for returning a rental early. Priceline adds a $5.95 processing fee to all rentals, regardless if they are for 1 day or multiple days. Priceline only rents from airport locations.

I don't think a rental car is your best option if you plan to use it only for the purpose you stated. I think two cabs would be better.

If you rent from a city office of Enterprise, they will come and pick you up. I agree with the above comment that Priceline may not be worth it for one day.w

Have you called Tiffany Towncar. I know they have vans that will accomodate 7 people, but I don't know if they transport to and from other places besides the airport, but you could call and find out. Hope thiis helps.
