YUK
has anyone had this before and what was it like?
not something i fancy i have to say
quite alot of the eateries within wdw have this on the menu.
i have also seen macaroni on the menus quiet alot.
my children will hate both.
i could always whip some of these up before we go as a tase test. i wouldnt mind the peanut butter and jam seperate.
i know there are loads of other things on the menus but these two products must be pretty huge in the usa.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are a real favorite with the little ones here. (Lots of big ones, too- I think DH had one for lunch today!) I think my DS had PB&J for lunch every single day of his second grade year.
Macaroni and cheese is another childhood staple- just macaroni covered with melted, creamy cheddar cheese sauce.
I had no idea these were strictly American dishes...
(Now, try presenting an American child with Marmite- that'll get you a truly disgusted reaction! :teeth: )

I quite like the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches but usually only when I am in the USA. I do like peanut butter though and quite often have it on toast for breakfast, had it this morning in fact.
Tried the mac and cheese once as well. It was alright but I am not a big fan of it anyway.
I would try as much as you can and that way at least you can say you have tried it and if you don't like it then at least you will know for the future.

My eldest DD (10) eats P&J sandwiches all the time, it's one of her favourites. My younger DD (6) won't touch them. However my eldest DD was born in California, that might have something to do with it!! :teeth:

I don’t like Peanut butter or Jam so this sandwich has never appealed.
Mac&Cheese however is something my mum used to try and make me eat but I always hated it which is very odd because I love pasta and I love cheese but when you put the two together for me its yukkkk!

On my first visit to WDW as a child I once tried PB&J sandwiches and I remember hating them :crazy2:.
Give me Marmite any day :)

Our DSs have never had PB & J sandwiches - never tasted peanut butter infact - I was worried about peanut allergies as one seems to be allergic to everything!!
I ca't stand the stuff
BUT Mac n Cheese - that's different - DS (5) last year ate it every single day while in Orlando - he would eat it here every day too if I allowed him to!!!
What I find odd is the Apple Sauce option on the kids menu instead of fries!! What's that all about???

your right about the allergies thing. your not meant to give a child under 5 anything that may contain nuts or nut products.
and marmite, i dont like that either. now bovrils a different matter. lol

I like sugar with peanut butter but as I'm not a jam eater PB&J has never appealed.

Excuse me for jumping in here. We Americans are all so FAT and our children are getting there also. As a society we eat out a lot and all those Fried Potatoes are making us fatter!
Applesauce is something that many children will eat and it is better for you and much lower in calories than fries.
Applesauce is considered a healthy side dish here. Many people buy it in little containers to pack in school lunches.

hi
i dont know if apple sauce is the same here as it is in the usa but we have it on a veggie dinner with pork chops/pork joint. tgi fridays does apple pieces here with the childrens dinners. my kids like both apple sauce and apple chunks with their dinner.

PB & J ? Try syrup and cheese. Sounds disgusting but it's actually quite nice.

What you need to remember is that peanut butter in the States is totally different to the stuff we get here (you can buy the 'real deal' - Skippy brand - in some supermarkets), so it mixes much better with jelly. It's very sweet and has a much less 'claggy' texture.
My Gran used to make Mac and Cheese (or macaroni cheese as she called it) for me and then for my children.

I love Peanut butter and jelly/jam! Two pieces of toast, PB on one, jam on the other, slap them together - yuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!
You Brits don't know what you're missing. PB & J is a staple in our house!
Mac & Cheese? According to DS (9), the stuff served at WDW isn't the "real" stuff. Nope, real Mac & Cheese is made by Kraft. You'll know it's the real stuff if it turns your tuperware a bright, toxic orange looking color.

Another vote for PBJ sandwiches, and sometimes on toast as well! Both Jane and I really enjoy PBJ - can't understand why anybody wouldn't, especially if you have a sweet tooth.

Peanut Butter and Jelly is ok, but I prefer my peanut butter with marmite!! AS to the Macaroni cheese, it tastes nothing like the one I make here. Jack tried it at Jungle Jims and it was not at all nice. It was far too dry for him! Oh well.
