I am thinking of joining Hotwire savings club.
First I have a few questions:
Aside from WDW what other discounts do you use?
Which movie theaters can you purchase discount passes to?
Which restaurants, etc?
I wanted to see a full list before I sign up....any one have access to this, could cut and paste.
Are there discounts for Disneyland &CA? We live in Cali.?
Thank you in advance for your advice.

I signed up intending to cancel before the 30 days and decided to stay because I like the movie tickets. I bought some for DTD and to use back home as well. I am not sure how long I will stay a member, but it's only 7.95/month and I also buy Q&C's with it and maybe will get some gift cards for Christmas.

I signed up fully intending to cancel, and I am remaining a member, at least for now. The $5 rebate on $25 gift cards is awesome! We eat at a lot of Darden restaurants and give Toys R Us gift certificates out as Christmas and birthday presents, so I am stocking up on those. For me, the gift cards alone (well, those and the meal vouchers of course) make it worth my while.

I like because we shop or eat at many of the places they offer cards for. I usually carry in my purse some of the Darden and Bennigans cards. That way if you are out and get hungry just pop in for a prepaid meal. On top of that I ususally find coupons in the paper for those places so on top of the 20% from the cards sometimes we have $5 off or B1G1 free.
I also use a lot of the shopping cards like Target and Toys R US for Christmas and birthday gifts. I bought one of my ds' a x-box one year. They were $200 then so I used $200 in gc for which I had rec'd a $40 rebate so it ended up costing me $160.
Not to mention the meal vouchers we use at Disney.

I've really enjoyed Hotwire. We bought our Disney Park Hopper tickets, VKL and Q&C and Breakfast Vouchers and gift cards to Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Steak & Ale, Blockbuster video, Toys R Us, LinensNthings, Outback, JCPenney and Target.
I'm planning on using lots of the gift cards to buy Christmas presents. I get $25 merchandise for $20 ~ then if you shop really good sales, you can end up getting $35-50 worth of goods for just that original $20 investment.
I really like that Hotwire doesn't charge for shipping!
::yes:: ::yes::THIS IS MY FAVORITE: ::yes:: ::yes::
Also, ToysRUs always has really good online sales toward Christmas ~ with Free Shipping for orders over $100. You can log on at night when the kids are in bed, with sale paper in hand. Pick out toys, read others reviews of them. Buy the toys (PRE-PAID! No bills after Christmas.) ~~ And then they are SHIPPED to your FRONT DOOR in very large PLAIN brown boxes for FREE!!!!::yes:: ::yes:: ~~
We did this last year (except we didn't use gift cards) and were able to store all the boxed toy presents right in plain sight in the garage. The kids had NO IDEA what all those plain brown boxes were.
Sure beats lugging kids around a store!!! We spend all our time going back and forth to the bathroom!
That's my Hotwire story~

MY DS and his DGF use enough movie tickets each month that it pays for the monthly fee in savings there alone. I also keep sone of the restaurant cards handy as well as Penney's. The Disney ticket prices are the best I have found and the meal vouchers of course can save you a bundle if used wisely. Some people have reported problems with this club but I have had nothing but good expeiences. I think the majority with problems used debit cards to pay instead of credit cards so keep that in mind if you join.

My opinion is that it is a good deal for a while- but once I have bought my limit of Target, Kmart, and Circuit City Cards I will cancel.
I am stocking up on gift cards as xmas gifts as Barb suggested- Barnes & Noble, Toys R Us, Chucky Cheese, Outback Steakhouse make good gifts.
The movie tickets can't be used within the 1st 10 days of a movie's engagement- correct me if I am wrong because I haven't actually used them.
****If you plan on joining, making a purchase and then quitting remember- Join around the 12th or 13th of the month- Make all your purchases within the 1st week- and then cancel around the 9th or 10th of the following month. If your timing is off you might not get your rebates.

How long does it take to receive your vouchers from Hotwire?
If I join & order them today, would I get them in time for my trip on the 29th??????
Trixiezzz

It usually takes about 4 or 5 days whenever I order.

I joined on Tuesday, ordered my vouchers-Q&C and VKL and received them yesterday! I have a question on the movie tickets though. Can the kids use the tickets for when the movies first open or are there a lot of restrictions on them?

The movie tickets cannot be used for the first 10 days of release.
You can pay extra at the window (I think $1.25) to upgrade and see new releases. I was asked if I wanted to do this at a UA theatre. It is also printed on the back of the pass.
We used ours at US CityWalk Loews Theater last month to see Shrek 2. It started to rain, so instead of leaving, I had movie passes so we caught Shrek and when we came out the sun was shining!
You can also use the Darden Restaurant cards at Bahama Breeze. We dont have one close but I like to have them for our trips to WDW as there is one on 192.

I went to Hot Wires website and it doesn't say much. So what exactly do they offer? $25 GC for $20? 20% off at rest, etc? What WDW discounts do they offer?
Thanks

Freetime-
After you join, which I did today, you get free reign
of the site.
I haven't made any purchases yet, but they advertise 20% off the gift cards and restaurants.
Look further up in this thread for a list of stores, etc.
I'm not sure about the WDW, except I know you can buy meal plans and I think park hoppers.

The website isn't too clear on how you get your 20% back so I just wanted to add this.
You don't receive the 20% credit until the beginning of the following month after your purchses. In other words, if you buy giftcards in June you will get the credit at the beginning of July.
You also need to be a member when they are giving the credits so be careful not to cancel at the beginning of the month.

Thank you for the heads up. I was wondering when the rebate would come.
I will have to remember that for when I decide to cancel.
I plan to try it up until around Christmas time, ...ya know stock up on the gift cards and movie tickets.:teeth:
Thanks,
Susan:cool:

I have been able to use the movie tickets within the first 10 days for every movie I've been to. I think they say "selected" movies, not all movies.
Two of the big ones I saw were Harry Potter and Return of the King. Both on the weekend after opening.
and two different AMC theatres.

Movie tickets...I believe it's the Movie Company that decides if you can use them or not. Our movie theatre posts which ones can't use passes. I have been able to use all of mine recently. You can only order 10 tix a day, but 100 in a year. They are great for teacher gifts.
Trixiezzz...I may be wrong but I don't think Toys r Us allows payment by gift cards online anymore.
The only recent change that I don't like is no more returns!
