Take a look...

SAN ANTONIO, Texas : A popular whale performance at Sea World Adventure Park in Texas took an unexpected twist when thousands of stunned park visitors saw a killer whale attack a trainer for several minutes on Monday.

The victim walked away from the incident, the extent of his injuries unknown.

Speaking on US television, Justin Lecourias who witnessed the event, said there was clearly something wrong in the lead-up to the attack.

He said the whale kept trying to bat the trainer under the water before trying to take a bite out of him.

Trainers were eventually able to calm the whale and the show was halted.

Officials cancelled "The Shamu Adventure" show for the rest of the day.

The trainer has said he intends to go back in the pool with the whale when the shows resume.

Veterinarians believe the whale is near breeding age and felt threatened by the trainer. - CNA

Glad to hear that there may have been some reasonable explaination. DD is going on 9 this week (her SeaWorld themed party is tomorrow!) and has a lifetime goal of becoming a marine biologist and working at SeaWorld. She did see the news coverage yesterday but said she still wants to work there. But it gives a Mom some gray hairs! Thanks for the info..............P
