The debate about codes has gotten pretty heated and I've been reminded about this board's rules regarding code posting - that the powers that be must first confirm it is available to EVERYONE.

My question: Has anyone EVER seen a code posted which is NOT AP, AAA, FL resident, or low season? If not, then isn't the code posting rule moot?

If codes are posted after verification, what's taking so long with the present code(s)?

I have never seen a code that was meant to be for ANYONE. The discounts that we HAVE seen in the past that are meant for ANYONE usually has a name. For example - when the Animal Kingdom opened, there was a discount call "Wild Summer Discount." In 1999 there was a discount called "All Star Summer (or Fall - I don't recall.)" These discounts were sometimes on moderates and deluxes and some were on the All Stars. These discounts were out there for ANYONE to use. There was no questions asked when making reservations and no problems at check-in. I saw a lot of GREAT discounts with these promotions.
But these promotions have been non-existant in the last year or so. That is why so many people are trying to obtain the codes.
If things are as "soft" as people are saying that they are, then I would think that you may see promotions like the ones that I have mentioned popping up in the next few months...
Hope that this helps! :)

Couldn't valid codes be posted, with the required criteria? Wouldn't that clear up everything?

I know, no posting codes... (or links...)

I think if you just call at least 3 times a day and ask politely they will just get tired of hearing voice, and give you a discount. Its call the pain in the neck discount.

"Yes, can you please help me, I've heard about this Pain in the Neck Code, PITN, from a friend of mine on the DIS boards. She says that it is unrestricted, is this a fact and would you please confirm that on my reservation sheet. Thank you!
