Okay swappers I had some free time today and I scanned the items from the MK swap (m)

I too tried to see the pictures. I would really like for someone to show what is made in the swaps. I hesitate to participate because I don't really know what is expected. I'm sure there are other scrappers who feel the same way.

I'm afraid I don't quite understand this swap thing? I am fairly new at scrapbooking. Would someone care to explain this?

Barb,
a swap is where some picks a theme and is the then the host of this swap.
The host decides how many elements the swap will have, limit the number of swapers if desired.
Then each person signs up for an element such as paper piecing (PP), eyelets, tags etc...
you then make one for each person in the swap including yourself.
You then put them in bags and mail them to the host. Once she has everyones items she send them out to all of the people who participated.
This last swap I made 20 toppers in return I rec'd 20 hand made items.

Swaps are tons of fun! you should give it a try! This board is a wonderful place to begin swaping. Everyone is so encouraging and really puts their best foot forward!

Let me just add to what Spinning has already said about swapping here. In my opinion, you get the best quality items in swaps on here on the Disboards. I've participated in swaps on other sites and have been disappointed too many times. But the items the ladies here on the DIS submit are fantastic!!! I've since concluded that I will only swap here because everyone does such great work and really puts the thought and effort into every piece they make. :teeth:

And that's coming from a true professional scrapper - so you know that swaps here are good. I have to tell you, even though I have never swapped before and have only done the AK swap, I am blown away by the workmanship of everyone here. Its just gorgeous stuff.
