12 days booked in Oct - will it open up?

I was hoping to book DC during our October trip but found 12 consecutive days booked already. Every other month has a day booked her and there but not so many in a row. Is there something I don't know? Does anyone think there's a chance of these opening up or is there some sort of Jaques Cousteau convention invading the place?

Ran into a similar situation for dates in June. E-mailed them to ask how to handle it other than checking their website a hundred times a day!! They told me to check at 30 days out as this was when people booked usually cancel or reschedule by. I continued to check daily as I really needed to book on 1 certain day and I think it was at around 32 days out that I found openings. I would confirm with them thru e-mail that it is still the same way and not some convention invading DC. Also in the past there was a discount available -code WLOQ- that would give a discount but it then didn't include the days to SW. You may want to check on their website if that is still available.

We are going in October too. I kept watching the dates on their website and then all of sudden the dates we wanted were closed. Needless to say...I paniced. I called them and there was no problem in getting the date I wanted.

Call them personally. It worked for me, hopefully it will for you.

Check their website. We did it in June and I booked in February. I wanted to make sure we could get our date and I also wanted plenty of time to pay if off!:D
