We will be there with you on the Aug 19 cruise (are families 1st ever Mom, Dad and daughter) with our Disney Daughter age 4 (turns 5 in early Sept).

I'm sure there will plenty of new friends there.

Here is another thread to keep an eye on for the Aug 19 cruise:

Hi, Julie Joyce!

I have been looking for people cruising on the Wonder 8/19! I was beginning to think I would be all alone.

I am cruising with my niece, Samantha, who is 7 years old. Maybe you two can meet on the ship. It will be just me and her. (Unless my mom joins us) Is it just you and your dad?

So how will we know each other on the ship? I will be wearing the Mickey Mouse ears, ok?

I am from New York (New Yawk, as we like to say). My name is Maria, I am a secretary and a Brownie Girl Scout leader. My niece Samantha is 7 years old. She is my brother's daughter.

This will be my fifth cruise, and her first. I have already asked for another cruise for my birthday in August (8/9). I love cruising. I am just worried that this cruise is going to be too short for me.

We are probably going to do the Stingray thing when we get to Nassau Bahamas.

Tell me about yourselves.

HI  Maria -

Glad to see some updates on this thread (hopefully others will jump in).

We are from Jacksonville (Jax, as we like to say :teeth: ), Florida. So we are only a couple of hours away from the cruise terminal.

There will be three of us, my DW (Sandi) myself (Mike) and our DD princess: (Kaitlyn). She is 4 (turning 5 in early Sept).

This is the very first cruise for any of us. We are taking a short one to make sure we like it. But with all the great things we have read and heard about DCL fully expect to book another while on board.

So far we have only signed up for the Eco Jet Ski tour at Castaway Cay. We are trying not to have too much "planned". This way we won't feel rushed if we decide to do something (or not do something). Plus if our DD does not like the Oceaneer Club (which we fully expect her to love) we may have to change our plans.

We are really looking forward to our cruise.

I guess nobody knows about this message board. I left several posts on the boards at cruisecritic.com too. Nobody responded there at all! I have made all the packing lists I can; read as much about the Disney Cruise as possible. I hate to rush the summer, but I can't wait til the Cruise! Now I am looking for some small yet roomy luggage. I want to pack as little as possible, and I know that I am going to wind up carrying my niece's luggage too. We are flying into Orlando, using Buddy passes on Spirit Airlines (my brother is a pilot).

Wonder if the Wonder does anything special for birthdays? I will be celebrating my 44th that week.

Which dinner seating are you at? We are the later one.
What kind of room do you have? We have an interior; I am contemplating changing to a balcony.

ta ta!

Maria -

We have posted on a couple of others lists as well with no luck. I guess most of the computer literate cruisers are going on other weeks. :teeth:

I just dug out our luggage from the attic last night (hasn't been used since our last ski trip out west over 5 years ago, but it still looks brand new). Since we only live a couple hours north of the port we are driving down Thursday morning. I know those transfers at the airport can be a pain, glad we get to skip that.

We have a verandah cabin on deck 7. Since this is our first cruise we wanted to be able to sit outside if we want. We may drop down (outside with window) for our next cruise. Maybe you will get lucky and get a free upgrade (I'm sure we won't be that lucky :( ).

I have read that you can have birthdays, anniversary's etc listed on your reservations, you just need to call DCL. Also you should let your head waiter know during your first dinner. I was thinking of doing that for our DD, she will turn 5 in early September (had to cruise now since she starts kindergarten the Tuesday after we return).

We also got the late seating, we are on the waiting list for early but we are not holding our breath. Have you got your docs yet to see what dinner rotation you have?

I'm sure your niece is very excited, I know our DD is.

Glad to hear from you. There isn't much more for me to do except wait and think about the vacation! I can't even shop anymore!

By the way, am I communicating with the Mama or the Papa?

Once you have a room with a balcony, you can NEVER go back. My hubby and I had a room with a balcony on the Norwegian Dawn last October. It was WONDERFUL! Every morning we had room service bring us coffee and we drank it on the balcony in our p.j.s. The ship ws only 10 months old at that time. It was awesome. And the best part was that it left from New York, our home town.

In March, we did a 5 day Carnival Cruise from Tampa. The flying there and back really took away from the enjoyment of the cruise. Besides, Carnival isn't that great.

m-sjaxjag
07-30-2004, 03:35 PM
This is Mike (the Papa :teeth: ). I do "most" of the posting, my wife doesn't have much computer access during the day (too many meetings). If she posts it is usually at night after our DD princess: is in bed.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the verandah. We are really looking forward to it. We just helped my in-laws book a 7 day Alaska cruise for mid Sept with one. They have been on multiple short Cariabben cruises with and without. I think they will really like the verandah on the longer cruise.

Talk to you later !!

I'm a single parent cruising with my 2 teens and my mother. My son is 18 and my princess is almost 17 (9/26). My mother is a senior citizen and I am .............young at heart. We live in Philadelphia PA and I'm flying to Orlando 8/18. Probably staying overnight in Orlando and renting a car and driving to PC 8/19. We did the Disney Wonder last year for my ............th birthday. It was soooo awesome :hyper: . My children wanted to go back and it didn't take much to convince me. I'm so excited :Pinkbounc . Hopefully we can all get together at Disney.

Sounds like you all are going to have a great time. None of us have ever cruised before so this will be a new experiance for us. We have heard and read nothing but great things about DCL.

Our princesses birthday is also in Sept, she will be 5 on the 14th. She is really excited about the trip. She is a hugh Disney Princess fan. Can't wait to take her to the Princess Gathering they have on-board.

Hopefully we can setup a DIS Forum members meet on board.

p.s. You need to have someone look at your PC, looks like you have a key that sticks :teeth: .

mickeymom923
07-30-2004, 10:32 PM
It seems like my PC only sticks when it comes to numbers. LOL. My DD was so excited to see all the princesses and she was almost 16. I probably took a picture of her with each princess. I was thrilled to meet my boyfriend there, Mickey, but he kept flirting with someone named Minnie. I tried not to act "Goofy" with him but I felt like I was "quacking" up. Anyway, the shows were great. The food was great. The cruise was great. Truly no one does it like Disney. Please let me know if you can arrange a Dis forum meeting there. It would be great. Hope others will respond to this site.

It was great talking to you. Have a great evening.

Hi, Mickeymom!

So happy you have joined out little discussion board!

I have no problem with numbers- I will be 44 on August 9th. Niece Samantha is 7 1/2. I invited my 80 year old mom to come on the trip too. She is still thinking about it. We are heading out of NY on the 17th or the 18th of August, from LaGuardia.

I am going to rent a car at Orlando Airport. I still have to find out about it; and I was wondering how much it would be to park the car at the pier at Port Canaveral. Mike, do you know?

Mickeymom, are you early dinner seating or late? Maybe we can arrange to all sit at the same table?

I just love discussing the cruise!!!!!

Great to hear from you. I will be 51 on 9/23 and my mom is 86. We're from Philly and flying out of Phila International on 8/18/04. We're flying into Orlando and I will rent a car, spend a few hours in Orlando (so I can get that Disney feeling) and drive over to Port Canaveral after dinner. I thought it would be easier for my mom to already be close to the port so we won't have to rush in the morning. I believe we have late sitting. We did the Disney Wonder last August to celebrate my 50th birthday and we all loved it so much, I decided to go back again. It would be great if your mom came too. My mom said it was the best cruise that she was on. Anyway, hopefully we can meet either in PC before the cruise depending on your plans or atleast on the ship. By the way, parking at Port Canaveral is about $10 a day. Some hotels offer free parking and shuttle service to and from the port.

m-sjaxjag
07-31-2004, 09:10 PM
With all these September birthdays sounds like there may be a bunch of early :bday: celebrations on board.

Parking is $10 a night at PC ($30 for our cruise), since we are driving down I had already checked.

Mickeymom - Is anyone in your group doing any of the onshore excursions??

Hopefully some other cruisers will be jumping on the list as we get closer.

Mahreeya
07-31-2004, 11:50 PM
Mickeymom, are you keeping your rental car to get from the cruise to Orlando airport? (leaving it at the hotel?). Or returning the car and taking a shuttle to the airport? I just got a price for Enterprise at about 30 bucks a day, and I have a $20 off coupon. Then I will either park it for 3 days for $30, or try to find a hotel like your that will keep the car for 3 days. That sounds better. I am trying to find out the cost of the transfer. I am confused as to what to do.

Thanks for all the information: I think I have figured out what to do, regarding transportation.

I got a good rate at Enterprise Car rental: $112 for 5 days;
The Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach is about 69 a night, with free parking and a free shuttle. The first night we want to stay near Universal and I found a hotel for about $40. So the total would be about $222 to keep the rental car and drive back to the airport. By the way, if I do keep the car and drive it back to Orlando airport, there will room for 2 or 3 people depending on the car size, in case anybody is interested.

Hi Mareeya....did I come close to spelling that (wright)..as you can see not likely. Julie and I (her dad Paul) are also at the 2nd seating for dinner. Well we will see you guys in 2 weeks.

Hi Paul, good to hear from you. When Samantha saw the Disney Cruise DVD, she made it clear to me that she was going to join all the kiddies things, and that she would (maybe) have dinner with me at night! She is very social, loves to make new friends. I was worried about being left alone, but from this forum, I already have friends. We have to find a way to get together right away.

So to the rest of the AUGUST 19, 2004 DISNEY WONDER CRUISERS, any ideas on how to get together???? A meeting place on the ship? Everybody wear mouse ears and meet by the mickey slide?

We dont have much time left!!!:earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Mahreeya, Paul, Mike and everyone else,
Mouse ears by Mickey's pool will be great. What time and what day? We will hopefully be on the ship by 1. Still trying to finalize car rentals etc. I wish my "fairy godmother" would wave her wand and decide for me. LOL. Paul, I saw that you are from Toronto. My cousins live in Toronto and we were there for 4 days over our Thanksgiving in November. It's a really nice place and we hope to vacation there someday. :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Mahreeya,
I never thought about using Enterprise. That sounds like a great price. I'm going to call them.I have a reservation at the Radisson in Cocoa Beach that cost about $99. I'll check out the Comfort Inn if they offer free shuttle service. Not to mention your price is better. Thanks for your info. Will you be getting to Cocoa Beach on the 18th? Did your mom decide to go?

Paul, when are you flying in and what are your plans?

Everyone else on the Wonder 8/19/04 - what are your plans?

Sounds like just about everyone got late seating for dinner. Maybe we will get lucky and be close together.

Our DD princess: also made it clear she wants to spend some time in the club. So far there haven't been any posts from someone in her age group (5 in Sept). Hopefully soon.

I guess we will have to find some mouse ears :teeth: , they are not part of our regular wardrobe.

We are driving down (only a couple hours from home) Thursday morning. We expect to be at the port by 11am or so. This should get us on the ship plenty early to eat, get signed up for stuff (club and spa, no Palo's this time :( ), swim a bit and explorer a little before the boat drill.

See everyone soon !!

Mahreeya
08-01-2004, 08:51 PM
Bev, if you stay at the Comfort Inn on the night of the 18th, we will definitely have to meet! I told my mom about your mom. I didn't get a reply. She could be more for me to handle than my niece. I think I will keep it just the two of us. By the way, the Comfort Inn deal was an internet deal. I can't remember how I got there, must have done a search on Google. And the Enterprise rate is good becuase I have a $20 coupon from my last rental. But there are good deals to be had, just keep looking. So far those are the only decisions I have made. We are not even sure if we will be arriving on the 17th or the 18th, if we are going to Universal or to Cocoa Beach.

Paul, I have read on other boards that the Dolphin encounter is not that good; and even tho they say the Stingray isn't either, that is the one we might take. I would prefer to stay on the ship, and that is still an option. I have been to Nassau, once was enough. (By the way, do you dance?)

The Mickey Ears was a joke, but if it works for us, let's do it! I plan to be the first on the ship, sitting by the pool, with a cool drink in my hand and mouse ears on my head!

 Iam home "sick" today. Got rear-ended on the Belt Parkway yesterda, with a minivan full of people. I am ok, just a wreck. My car got damaged; can't open the hatch. So I need some cheering up. Let's talk packing. I want to take the least amount of stuff as possible. A small wheeled bag, a carryon bag, and a back pack, even though I have a packing list 2 pages long. You should see the "what to pack" board that I started at cruisecritic.com. It has taken on a life of its own, but it has some funny ideas.

I look forward everyday to the new messages. Can we post photos of ourselves?

Marie -

Sorry to hear about your car accident. :( Glad you were able to be be home "sick" and recover. ;)

We have started on our packing list too. There were a couple of items I really liked from other lists we found:

Another tip: pack what you think you will need...then take out 50%.

5. Pack 60% less than you think you need.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

My wife did not think they were too funny !! I am a very light packer and she isn't. I am sure it will be a little harder for you, packing and carrying for 2. At least we can share the load. It looks like we are going to have 2 larger suitcases for all 3 of us (maybe a garment bag for hanging stuff, haven't decided on that yet). Plus a couple of small carry on's for suits, papers, camera stuff etc.

We are so used to having everything with us when we camp (with our mini house I mean camper) that this is tough for us. This will actually be the very first vacation ever that we have taken that we don't have to do anything but have fun. Even we go out west to snow ski we rent a condo or house so there is cooking, washing etc. This will be a BIG change for us.

Talk to everyone later !!!

Hi Guys.

Sorry to hear about your accident Mahreeya. We will fly into Fort Lauderdale and spend a fews days at Vero Beach before heading to Port Canaveral on the Thursday morning. I just bought a blue baseball type cap that says Canada across the front so that will be my mouse ears. As for me dancing well I guess I am on vacation so anything is possible. I think I will just keep all our options open with regards to the kids clubs and excursions until we are there. See you in a couple weeks.

A good thing to get for the cruise is some kind of lanyard to wear around your neck to carry your room key. That's about all you have to carry around on the ship. People on other boards say to get a hole punched into the room key by the purser, and attach it to the lanyard that way.

Another good idea is to bring hi-lighter pens. Every night you get an itinerary of what is going on the next day, and it can be hard to keep track of. So you hi light what you want to do, and when it is scheduled.

This is my fifth cruise, and I thought that the first timer's would appreciate this.

m-sjaxjag
08-02-2004, 07:43 PM
Got the lanyard covered but forgot the highlighters. THANKS for the reminder. I just added it to the list.

It pays to have a "pro" :teeth: on your cruise !!

I just bought a brand new Jaguars hat for the cruise will that do as my "mouse ears" ?? :p

m-sjaxjag

I guess you are not a football fan. :teeth:

Neither, it is a baseball style NFL Jacksonville Jaguars hat. This paticular one is white with the Jaguars logo on it (the logo looks a lot like the one on the football helmet on our name icon on the side).

<------------- LOOK HERE

If you know anyone that is a football New York Giants fan they can tell you all about our ex-head coach that now coaches the NY Giants.

Hi everyone,
Maria, sorry to hear about your accident. Hopefully you are ok. I guess you'll just have to do a Disney cruise to relax.
I thought I'd wear something different and wear a Mickey Mouse t-shirt on the cruise. That way you'd recognize me. LOL. I have a blue denim MM sunvisor that I'll probably wear. I'll join you at the pool with a drink.
:jester: Still didn't check into Comfort Inn yet. Had a busy day. I starting writing a list of what to pack but I always pack too much. My mom will have her own suitcase and carry on. My son likes to pack his whole bedroom so he'll have his own suitcase. My daughter and I will share a suitcase and each will have a carry on. Since I'll be stopping at Orlando on the 18th I'm sure I'll buy more MM t-shirts. :hyper:
Paul, looking forward to meeting you and your daughter.
Mike, what does DIS veteran mean?
When we went last year, we were told to take a carry on with our bathing suits. When we boarded the ship, they told us to go right to the buffet lunch since none of the rooms were ready yet. By the time we were done eating, the rooms were ready. We were on the ship by 12.
Is anyone bringing anything dressy?

m-sjaxjag
08-02-2004, 09:20 PM
mickeymom923 -

We will be able to pick you out right away in your Mickey Mouse shirt !! :p

DIS Veteran just means that we have posted at least 75 times, yours will automactially change from Welcomed Guest to DIS Vet when you hit the 75 mark.

We are not bringing anything real dressy. DW got me a very nice low key silk Mickey Tie (a black and white tie with very very small Mickey Mouse heads on it). Thought I might wear it to Animators Pallet (sp?), it should fit in with the black and white to color theme. I wear a tie to work everyday so it doesn't bother me to wear one at dinner like it does others. DW got a couple of nice dresses (not real "dressy"). DD has her princess dresses so she is set.

Plus we all have matching tropical Disney outfits for the deck party (dress for DW and DD princess: and a shirt for me).

We hope to be on the ship early to scope it out, since we our "rookies" :teeth: we need a lot of time.

Talk to you soon.

I dont remember where I got these tips, maybe from another board, but I am going to print it and take it with me. I think it is for the 4 day cruise, not our 3 day cruise, tho.

Disney Cruise Tips:
Go to Deck 7 Aft and find the hidden outdoor deck. Get a Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunt list. Order Mickey Bars from Room Service (they are not on the menu)
A lot of people miss the Library and room with board games down on deck 2, so be sure to check that out. Also, almost every night on deck 3 in the promenade lounge there are singers that are usually really funny and also very good. They get the crowd involved and unfortunately there have been times where I have been the only person listening to them. This is a great way to spend some time before dinner and a show.

*A tip: Never stop exploring the ship. I have been on it 6 times and everytime I find something new. Like a new beautiful view to look at stars at night, and that wonderful abandoned verandah on deck 7 that has already been mentioned.
Here's a tip about tipping. Go to guest services Thursday and square up on the tipping (unless you're putting cash in the envelopes) -- there will be a big line on Friday night at Guest Services with people doing this.

Has anyone got thier docs yet ??

I called our TA last week about them and they either were sent out Friday (July 30th) or won't be sent out until tommorow (Aug 4th). They are waiting on our Disney Dollars (a promotion they had when we booked) to get in so they can be put in our pack. I hate waiting until the last minute to get something done in case there are problems. :scared:

If you have your docs what dinner rotation did you receive?

When do we get our cabin numbers? Maybe this is how we can hook up.

I received our docs about 2 weeks ago. They were shipped UPS. The tickets do not list the dining rotation, just second seating. My son said I should wear his green Eagles cap instead of the MM sunvisor. I don't know why he thinks I'll be more noticeable wearing the Eagles cap. Maria, how do you feel? We'll be in Disney 2 weeks from tomorrow and I can't wait. I'm taking my cell phone and will email everyone separately with my number so that could be another way to get in touch with each other. :thewave:

I will have my cell phone too! Great Idea! I just bought a collapsible water bottle and a flask, and a leopard print shopping bag tote thingey on wheels, which I will use for a carry on.

My email is mahreeyagwastela@yahoo.com, just in case.

PS My travel agent just called and is mailing me my documents.

PPS: Samantha is very excited that we have "pre-friends" for the trip. She looks forward to meeting JulieJoyce!

Down to 2 weeks anyone else out there going ???

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is as excited as I am. In 2 weeks, I'll be in Cocoa Beach.

I called DCL last night to find out about the dining rotation. They said we find out when we board and we can call them to request whom we want to sit with if we have the reservation/booking numbers.

I asked about having a meeting and was told they have a conference room that we can request. They gave me someone's name and fax # if we want to do that. They also suggested that we can all meet at one of the lounges (Cadillac Lounge was suggested but it's in the adult only area).

Upon boarding there is a lunch buffet and at 4pm there is a lifeboat drill. Then everyone goes up on deck for an awesome "Bon Voyage" send off around the family pool area.

We all could meet in the port terminal near the model of the ship about 11am or so but I'm sure everyone wants to wait in line to be first to get on.

Any ideas for meeting? Time and date?

Cya real soon.

GOOD JOB, AGAIN. Yes, let's request we sit together for dinner. I like that.

I was thinking about looking at the deck plans to find a meeting spot, but a conference room at around 3:30 sounds good to me. We will have more than enough time to get back to our rooms, and join the MUSTARD grill. I mean muster drill. It only takes a few minutes to get your room, grab the life vests, and then "muster" (or gather) at the muster station that is closest to your room.

I can't find the Internet site for the Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach that had the cruise/transfer/parking deal!

Where is the dinner rotation listed?? I thought it would be pretty obvious but I did not see it.

THANKS for any help !!!

 Hi Mike and Sandi. The rotation of the dining rooms are not listed on your docs. Your docs only state whether you have early or late seating. When you check in at the port you are given a card that looks like a credit card which is your room key and has letters of the dining room rotation. Last year, we had no idea where to go because no one explained it to us. Guess you must be excited :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc : Pinkbounc now that you finally got your docs.:hyper:

Thanks for the info. I did find the dinner seating, still late. We had put in to be moved to early in case our DD princess: started to get tired. But we will have to make do, plus it looks like all of our DIS friends have the same late seating :p .

Now we have to wait to see what our dinner rotations are.

Hey, Guys! I have a cold; thank goodness it is this week, so I will be perfectly healthy by the cruise.

I haven't gotten my docs yet. I saw somebody on another board who is on our cruise (I invited him/her to join us here), who booked a cat. 11 and got upgraded to a 5 or 6. I am so envious!! I hope something like that happens to us!

Anyhoo, on another board, there was mention of an "incident" on the Wonder at Disembarkation on Aug. 5th. Freaked me out! It turned out to be nothing, not even news worthy. But 300 people were delayed until things were cleared up. Something about a mattress and one of those police dogs smelling something he didn't like. Scarey. I am already a jittery wreck when it comes to travel.

So I booked the Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach. I will be leaving the rental car there for the duration.

Nothing left to do except watch the clock.::MinnieMo

Sorry :( you have been sick. With the car and the cold you are due for a vacation :teeth: .

DW & DD have also had a summer cold this week :( . I am sure they will be better in plenty of time to cruise. Now if I can stay healthy ;) we will be good to go.

11 Days and counting !!!

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear about your colds. 11 days to get better. We arrive in Orlando on the 18th and are booking the Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach. Maria, we'll see you there.

Just trying to get my clothes togther. I always pack way too much. Don't forget to pack a sweater or light jacket. Sometimes it's cold on the ship. Hopefully I won't forget anything.

I aLso read about the mattress incident on the Wonder. I was a little scarced but figured it's better to be safe than sorry. It did turn out to be nothing and I read how Disney entertained everyone on the ship so no one panicked.

Looking forward to a Magical cruise and meeting everyone.

Hi, y'all.

I am getting confused again about where to stay and car rentals and parking and transfers. Bev, you are right. The $99 deal at the Comfort Inn is no deal. Better to book the cheaper room, and park at the dock for $30! At least I can jump in the car and go to the airport straight away! It wil be the same exact price in the long run, but alot easier.

I got the info on the Wonder scare (I can't get myself to use any harsher words). But why keep the people on the ship if it was a shipment of new mattresses that caused the scare? I would have been beside myself with fear on that one. I still have not recuperated from 9/11, and probably never will, especially living here in NYC.

Glad I will have my new friends with me!

mickeymom923

I called alot of car rentals and I found the best rate from Budget using a coupon from the Entertainment Book for a total of $227.96 for 8 days and 2 hours. I also found the best price at Comfort Inn for $71 using the AAA discount. I figured we'd drive and park at the port for $30 so that we can go and leave when we were ready without having to depend on a shuttle. I still have a reservation at Disney Pop Century and Cocoa Beach Radisson for the 18th that I have to cancel.

About the mattress scare on the Wonder, you have no idea how scared I am about flying and taking any cruises. Since 9/11, I too have been really scared but I realize I can't give up living and traveling because I'm afraid to live. There's too much to see and do (and xanax helps).

CYA all real soon.

I got a price of $59 at La Quinta Inn at Cocoa Beach with the Entertainment book. That plus the $30 parking comes out less than the Comfort Inn.

I am wearing my Mickey and Minney Sleep Shirt that I was saving for the trip! Can't wait.

My friend at work, who has been on several Disney Cruises, says to avoid the water on the ship. Her little boy (5) got sick from the water. I have found cruise ship water to be flat tasting. You know they recycle/recirculate and treat the water used on the ship.

I have a bottle with a Brita Filter in it. I think I will bring it with me.

Hi All.

Any advice for seasickness? I think its just that 1st night, leaving from Port Canaveral that,s the problem. Hey Maria if you go to the casino I,m going with you and maybe some that luck will go my way. Julie is getting pretty excited about the trip and also about meeting Samantha.

See ya

Hi y'all.

I was wondering about seasickness myself. I have never gotten seasick, but this is Sammy's first cruise, so I was a little worried. My last cruise was really really rough, and every other person was wearing those little behind the ear patches for sea sickness; they were being given out at the ship's infirmary.

On another cruise message board, I saw some mention of ginger pills. I will have to check that out. All natural would be better, especially for the kids. Some sea-sickness medications cause drowsiness.

Paul, there is no casino on the Disney Ships. There are casinos in Nassau, but the little kiddies aren't allowed in.

I am not sure which way my luck is going: I had the car acccident, but it wasn't my fault. I got a cold, but recuperated before the trip. I am still flying standby next Tuesday night, so let's hope we get on first!

SO? HOW ARE WE GOING TO MEET?

juliejoyce
08-10-2004, 08:48 PM
Thanks for the info on seasickness. I was thinking of Nassau when I mentioned the casino,s and I,m not really much of a gambler. Just figured your upgrade was pretty lucky. Well as for meeting i will be the oldest one, except for grandparents ,with a 6 year old, 50 going on 35. Also plan to wear my Canada hat . I will get my documents tomorrow so I can tell u my room number later. Julie will act a litltle shy when she meets Samantha but leave them together for 5 minutes and that will change fast.

See you next week

HELLO EVERYBODY!

BEV AND I WERE TALKING LAST NIGHT ABOUT MEETING UP. PLEASE POST IF YOU ARE INTERESTED?

Figure around 3:30; maybe at my cabin for some champagne?????

MIKE and family, where you?

Paul, you are right! Even my travel agent said I was lucky and I thought she was the one who got me the upgrade. I am used to kids being shy with each other; I am a Brownie Leader for Samantha's troop. Sure the 2 girls will be shy at first but by the end of the trip, they will probably be best friends.

Mike and Sandi, hope you're as excited as I am and I'm looking forward to meeting the 3 of you.

Maria, great idea. ::yes:: I'll drink to that.:drinking1 or we possibly could meet on Deck 10 at the ESPN lounge around 3, or at the theater before the show.

Paul, age is just a number and my children tell me I'm so old that my number is unlisted. LOL.
