Usually weight loss means giving up or cutting back on something in order to reach your goal. The sacrifice is worth it, but some things are harder to give up than others. For me it is Cokes. I love to drink 2 or 3 Cokes a day, but I cant do that and lose weight. Up until the last few days I have been holding myself to 1 or 2 Cokes a week, but I have had 4 Cokes in the last couple of days. Thats gotta stop, but they are so hard to give up.
What do you find most challenging to give up or cut back on?

Desserts! I love anything chocolate most times, so that is the hardest thing so far, especially when we go out to eat. At home, its usually not that much of a problem.

Honestly, it's hard just to cut back on food in general. I love to cook and I love to eat. Cutting down on the portions is a VERY hard thing for me but I'm doing it and it will be worth it. :)

Noodles. We eat a lot of ramen here in Hawaii. I can't even go to a ramen place now because all they have is ramen, and rice dishes like fried rice or curry over rice!!
There are a few other things for me, but that is definitely the hardest right now.
Like Princess Michelle said, it will be worth it to reach my goal. And eventually I will be able to eat those things again (as long as I don't overdo it!).

Chips and dips (the full fat ones) and chocolate. And that big plate of pasta on Sundays!

I've been thinking about this question all day. The only thing I can think of that I truly miss since I've started this way of eating is sleep! I get up at 5:30 every morning to work out. When DS starts back to school next month I'll have to get up about 5:00 to fit my work out in, have breakfast and get him to school on time.

Popcorn & potatoes! I enjoy how I feel when I eat healthy, but I really do miss those 2 things.

It's the sweets, definitely... the double stuffed oreos, the chips ahoy, the bags of mini-chocolate chips in my canister on the counter, chocolate ice cream, chocolate syrup, white chocolate bars from Switzerland in the freezer, brownies ...
yep, my heart pumps nothing but chocolate through my body!!!
However, thanks to an unnamed DIS-er who hasn't smoked in 2 years, I've been inspired to really cut back on my chocolate fulfillment. I've lost 12 pounds!!! I think if she can manage to not smoke (which is a real physical addiction), then I would be a weenie not to cut back on the manna from heaven I love!!!

FRENCH FRIES!!!!! I LOVE french fries, always have. Carb-junkie that I am, as well as loving fried foods in general. :( I ate 6 Wendy's french fries the other day, it cost me 3 pts!!!! They tasted great, but it wasn't worth 3 pts. :earseek:

Usually it is chocolate. When I started on my diet two weeks ago I feel so positive that I can do it this time that I can't really say that I have missed the chocolate.
I have been doing lots of exercise and trying to keep myself motivated so perhaps that has something to do with it.
Coffee Frappuccino's with whip cream ( I would have about 4 a week) Someone told me they have 600 calories in them. I about died on the spot. No wonder I gained 15 pounds in a year. Yep it was those lovely frozen coffee frappuccino's at Barnes & Nobles.

Hello to all, I have been on atkins for three months and have lost 32 pounds. It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be but when the french fries and chocolate start calling my name I put on my baggy pants and dream of the day they will just fall to the ground!! Then I will be doing the no pants dance!! Just like Donald and Daisey and Pooh!! :wave2:

I love my sweets. Coconut Frappucino's from Joe Muggs Coffee are one of my favorites. I haven't had one in about 6 weeks. I am actually surprised that I don't miss real chocolate. A sugar free peanut butter cup usually satisfies me now. It's a good thing too cause it would not be pretty if they didn't. :earseek:

Convenience!!!
Oddly enough, I miss the convenience of fast foods. It was SO easy to just grab a burger & fries, or an egg mcmuffin - eat them in your hands. Or chips with a sandwich at home. That's probably what I miss the most. Being able to grab any ol' thing!
If I was to list a food - as odd as it sounds - that would be it!
