I just posted my wish commitment here today, but I wanted to share something with all of you. Please note that rhis post is not intended to brag, but I have been floating on air all day and I just had to share this with someone.

A couple of months ago, I went to the doctor for a skin problem I was having. That was when I found out that I'm was 75 pounds overweight at nearly 300 pounds. I'm 6'3, so I can carry more weight than many folks, but this was too much. The next day I began eating less and started my running regimen again. I have been slowly building up my time and endurance, but I didn't feel like it was doing much good. My clothes fit a little better, but that was about it.

Anyway, today I had my annual physical. The doctor walked into the examining room, stopped for a moment and then said, "You look a lot better". I nearly fell over. I have a great doctor, but he is not long on encouragement. A comment like this is totally out of character for him. Then it was off to the scaleswhere we found that I have lost 20 pounds! He actually shook my hand and congratulated me.

I have a long way to go to reach my goal, but today is the first day in 2 months that I really felt like I was accomplishing something and it feels really good.

Thanks for listening.

Wow, good for you. I started my family on South Beach on May 3rd.

We have all lost (3 of us) almost 20 pounds each. I am the only one that is currently at 18 pounds.

Our new favorite past time is buying new clothes. I have a LONG way to reach my goal but I am on the right track and this way of eating is perfect for me. I can't wait to go back to the Dr to see what she thinks.

She mentioned South Beach to me when I was there in April. I started in May and feel GREAT and look a lot better.

Keep up the good work!

How wonderful! To lose weight is great enough but then to get an unexpected compliment on top of it is even better! :)

Hound!! I'm so glad you've found us, and that you're sharing such good news! 20 pounds is a GREAT start toward getting fit.

I know what you mean about the doctor. I've got a great doc, but he is a man of few words. For yours to notice and to take the trouble to comment on your loss says a lot.

You're *really* going to wow him at your *next* checkup!:sunny:
