We're going to Disney in October, and are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. My question is how do we get from CBR to like the Contemporary for dinner? Is there transportation that runs from resort to resort? Would we have to go into a park first?

Thanks much!
Kristin

Yes, you are better off using one of the parks at a pick-up/drop-off spot. If you will be using any of the monorail resorts, take the MK bus. You can walk to the Contemporary from the MK or take the monorail. If you are going to WL, get to the Contemp. and take the boat from there or the boat from MK. The other resorts are a little iffier tho. If you plan on going to Boardwalk or YC/BC I would be tempted to get a cab. Otherwise you'll end up walking thru Epcot and using a day on your pass. You could take a bus to MGM and then take a friendship boat to these resorts. Or you can use Downtown Disney as a transfer spot.

No. A few resorts may sometimes share a bus. But no scheduled bus transportation goes from resort to resort.
A few years ago we met friends for dinner at CA Grille who were staying at CBR. And hour and half barely got them there, in January.
Allow plenty of time when resort hopping. Most people will suggest and hour and a half. That is why sometimes a taxi is better. Depends how much time and patience you have.
