Hi Everyone!!

I've been lurking on the board for a while without posting (doing very well with maintenance by the way - 133 and holding for several months now!)

Congrats to all you losers!!!

Have some news: I'm going to be a grandma! We are excited and all but I'm having a bit of trouble with the G-word. I just turned 40 - coincidentally the age that MY grandmother was when I was born!

I feel about 23 (ok, maybe a bit smarter than I was at 23  ) and I can't imagine being called grandma. Yes, I realize that implies all sorts of issues on my part... People tell me that once that baby gets here I won't care what she calls me!

Could you all share with me what your grandkids call you? Or, for you youngsters, what you call your grandmoms?

Thanks!
Audrey

My mom had a hard time being called the G-word so all the grandkids call her Nana:D

My mom has my 3 year old niece call her Granny. Which reminds me of Looney Tunes and the old white haired lady on there... but hey whatever makes her happy. I just think she's finally accepted the fact that she is old enough to be a grandmother. :p

but then you probably could figure that one out already;)

My grandmother was so special and I called her Gram. Grammy just seemed "right" for me and maybe as my 2 DGD's get older - it might translate to "gram" for them - we'll see.

I do think that it has to "feel" right for you - it will just happen and I go with the others - when you see that sweet precious MIRACLE you won't care.

congratulations on that news and congrats on being a svelte, healthy g-mom too!
