I can tell you that just this March, Hotel Kingdom beat any discount Universal was offering us for our dates. I would book with Loew's since there is no penalty to cancel up to 5 days prior to check-in. Then if Hotel Kingdom has a sale, you can go ahead and book with them and cancel with Loews. It pays to stay on top of the rates.
Good luck!

I agree with AlexandNessa. Book the room through Loews and then watch hotelkingdom.com. You can always cancel the Loews reservation and go with hotelkingdom.com
This is what I plan to do. I just booked Portofino Bay for Presidents' Week 2005 and hope to do better with hotelkingdom.com.
Good luck!

I can tell you that right now, HotelKingdoms prices are WAY MORE than Loew's.

That is not necessarily so. I have booked through hotelkingdom.com at a much better rate than was available through Loews (and I am Loews Gold, have Ent. Card, AAA and a Fan Club Card.) Hotelkingdom.com will often times have a "sale" and the rates are EXCELLENT.
It is always worth checking hotelkingdom.com.

You misunderstood what I wrote. Maybe I should have phrased my sentence better.
I meant that right now "today/July rates" the prices are a lot higher for a room through Hotel Kingdom than they are through Loew's.
I have a FAN rate of $254 through Loew's for 5 people in a Bay View room. The Hotel Kingdom price is $319 for just a Garden View room during the same dates in just two weeks! The AAA price was $255 for a Garden View.
Not saying they can't change, but for my dates they are higher.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I just wanted the OP to know that it is possible for hotelkingdom.com to be cheaper and it pays to check!
I really think the prices flucuate depending on when you book. When I booked RPR in Jan '04 for Dec. '04 the lowes site was saying that FAN, AAA, and lowes member rated rooms were not available and the least expensive room was $239 compared to $169 at HotelKingdom. I booked with Hotelkingdom and have been watching prices raise since then. I am glad I got the $169 when I did, because it will be so worth it to have FOL the two days after Christmas. Good Luck!
