I have never stayed here so I am unsure about upgrades at the portifino. The operator for loews said I could get a standard room with free upgrade to a villa room. She said it was 490 sq. ft. Is there any difference in the rooms. is the upgrade more than just a view change.? the rate she told me was 285 plus tax. per night. What rates would you expect to pay with discounts?
Please explain would appreciate info.
I already have reservation at royal pacific but always like to keep my eyes open for possibilities.

It sounds like she is actually talking about a Deluxe Room, which are in the Villa Wing.
If that's the case, I can tell you that these are over 500 sq. feet, have a huge bathroom, and we paid $199/night via Hotel Kingdom. AP rates can be $216/night, and I'm sure others have done better.
These offer a view of the Villa Pool or the Beach Pool, and a select few have a Bay View.
We stayed in a deluxe room in March. PM me your e-mail addy and I can send you an invite to see our most professional photos.
From a standard (garden) view, the upgrade would be a Bay View, then a deluxe pool view room, then probably Club, not sure after that.

If paying rack or an AAA rate, Loews Blue can upgrade at the time of the reservation to a Deluxe "Villa" room at PBH. If you are using a discount you may be able to upgrade at check-in if there are any deluxe rooms available and if the person that you get is in a good mood. Danielle is awesome! Sometimes connecting Portofino Parlors are offered for $35/night.
