Can someone verify that you need a name and address in order to send out a gmail invite?
My husband just get mad at me because he thinks I feel for a scam.

Gmail is definitely not a scam and neither is sending out invites to get others to sign up. I work with people at Google on a daily basis and talk about the product a lot.
Name and email address? Yes
Name and home address, I don't think so.
My co-worker in our NYC office sent me a Gmail invite and she didn't need to know my home address to send it to me.
Maybe I'm totally misunderstanding your question
I hope I was able to help :D

I bought a gmail invitation on eBay. The seller just sent me the link, he didn't ask for my name. I had to give my name to gmail, but not my address.

gmail? We are talking about the google email? Why would you buy an invite off of ebay?? Isn't it free to sign up?
