This is gonna sound stupid, but I figure don't have much to lose..

Last time we visited Manatoba, we fell in love with a blended cooking spice that is unavailable in the States. We stocked up heavily, but as I was rubbing down the steaks tonight.. I found we are out.

I asked my grocer to get some, well, he just kinda laughed at me..

If someone is inclined, I would appreciate 4 jars (188 g) of "LaGrille" Montreal Steak Spice. Its made by Club House. I understand it is a pretty common blend and quite inexpensive.. we just can't get it here. Don't know if there are different kinds, the one we like is MSG free though.

Thanks for any assistance, PM or Email

Jim@Frozenfingers.com and we can work out the details :)

but next time I'm in Costco (probably tomorrow!), I'll see if they carry it.

I'll get back to you.

Any of the grocery stores here carry it also, I buy the Club House "LaGrille" roasted garlic & pepper rub one here, and mix it with mayo and sour cream. It makes a good dip for chicken quesadilas, and also use this mixture to spread on chicken wraps

we use it all the time,
never thought about mixing it with mayo and sour cream, that would be very tastey!

Yes DonDuck Fan, it is really good, I usually do equal parts, one to one, like a tablespoon of each and to that about a 1/4 tsp. of the garlic & pepper rub. so I just mix up about 8 talespoons of each and just put in how much of the rub you would like ( to your taste)so I can have it for the week." enjoy" ,,,,P.S. I also use the light sour cream

I buy the Montreal Steak Spice at Costco. Large bottles...we can't do without it, especially for grilling.

If you haven't received an offer of someone purchasing for you yet, just PM me and I'll be glad to get you some at Costco.

Jim-

I use that one all the time & have been for years ....and the reason is that all the "LeGrille"/Club House blends don't use MSG in them. It took me a long time time to find a brand that didn't use MSG (MSG gives me awful migraines), Their wet rubs & marinades are really great too.

If you go to:

clubhouse-canada.com (http://www.clubhouse-canada.com/)

under Our Products, Lagrille, you should be able to see some information about Montreal Steak Spice. For US people, if you click the link at the very bottom of the page, it takes you to:

McCormick's (http://www.mccormick.com/productlanding.cfm) where under products there is the Montreal steak spice under the Grill Mates label. There is a link to locate where the products can be purchased.
