How long does it take to get from Portofino Bay to Universal? to IoA?...
and how do you get there? By water taxi?...any other way?

and what does water taxi mean?

clearly, we've never stayed at universal before so i'm totally clueless about all of this...

There are 4 ways to get there.
1. Water taxi - which is a boat that holds about 30 people that runs from a dock at PBH to a dock at CityWalk harbor.
2. You can walk on a pathway that meanders adjacent to the waterway that the water taxi takes.
3. You can take the on site bus for hotel guests. The pick up is located in front of the lobby where the taxis are parked.
4. You can drive to the park's parking garage and walk.

The fastest is the bus. This has the least amount of walking and is air conditioned. The bus is under utilized as the boat is more romantic and kids seem to like it. I talked to one driver who said he didn't have a rider until after noon the day before. My family raced one morning because my son thought the boat was faster. The bus won hands down. Time? 10 to 30 minutes?

thanks....i guess we'll try 3 of the 4 (no point in driving there in my opinion)...

i'm really looking forwards to this...unfortunately, we'll only be there for one night/2 days....(but i've booked the room for two nights and we'll probably check out in the evening before we head on over to the AKL)...

Our family just came back last week from staying at the PBH. The water taxi was very efficient and always seemed to there waiting for us! Also, the times we didn't use the water taxi, we opted for walking and was timed anywhere from a 12-15min. walk. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the bus tip. We want FAST, not romantic and in mid July, I am all for air conditioning! :D
