Picture it! 1996 - My family's first trip to WDW. The cast of 7 includes:

Dennis - My Dad
Karen - Mom
Jamie - Moi
Kristen - My younger sister
Grandma B. - Dad's mom
Grandma L. - Mom's mom
Bob - Future Husband to Grandma L.

None of us had ever been to Walt Disney World before....or for that matter really knew anything about it. My mom decided to order one of those Disney Vacation videos to give the rest of us a feel of what Disney World was all about. We all fell in love with it instantly. The year before had been a rough one for my family after losing my Grandpa to cancer, my great grandma of a heart attack, and my Grandma B. being diagnosed with cancer. We decided to make it more memorable we take Grandma B. since she had never been before and it would be our last vacation together. Before we ended up leaving, our reservations included two more people - My Grandma L. and Bob.

Grandma B. was very quiet and self composed. She never complained about anything and would do anything for you. My Grandma L. - God love her! - is a little...well OK a LOT difficult. Imagine Ray's mom on Everybody Loves Raymond! On one particular evening, my family decided to try Whispering Canyon. Now I'm not sure how they do things now as I have not been there in a while, but back then you would put your name on the list and they would give you a "beeper" that vibrated and lit up when your table was ready. Although we had all gone as a group, Grandma L. decided she needed to put her name on the list and get her own beeper. Instead of arguing we let her go ahead. We waited out in the lobby for our table and took in the scenery. It is always fun to check out different resorts. A little bit of time passed when our pager started going off..our table was ready! Upon noticing ours going off my grandma realized she misplaced hers somewhere. We figured this would happen to begin with but just let her go ahead! Immediately upon noticing the missing pager she begins to panic. She starts frantically looking around. Unfortunately for my family we were all standing a ways apart when we noticed Grandma was looking for something. We were following the hostess into the dining area when my Grandma who was still in the lobby looking for her pager yells...MY VIBRATOR!! I CAN'T FIND MY VIBRATOR!! Upon hearing the nearby snickers of other guests and wiping the looks of horror off our faces we simply turned around and quickly headed to our seats. I don't think my Grandma ever realized what that must have sounded like from another guests point of view!

Your post certainly made me laugh out loud, that is too cute. By the way, if you do not mind me asking, how old is she?

That has to be one of the funniest stories I've read in a long time, I could picture the whole thing happening in front of with Doris Roberts yelling "I can't find my vibrator." It's a ggod thing you all seem to have such a great sense of humor.

I personally wasn't impressed with it but my family loved it. They ordered the family style meal and I just wasn't a huge fan of what was offered on it. We went back again and I tried another dish, It was either something with chicken and pasta or some kind of Asian type dish? I can't recall now, however, I wasn't very impressed with that either.

I would say if you're interested in trying the restaurant don't let my opinion be any bearing upon your decision. It was Feb. and I caught a nasty cold on the drive down there. I was sick the entire trip and my opinion wouldn't really be fair since nothing tastes good when you're sick!
