when using the fast track approach (20 pts) per day - is 20 the number for anyone to use, no matter what your current weight is?

And do you strictly eat only the 20 points and not "eat" activity points?

Thanks

no the points are based on your weight now.

I cant remember but I think 200-226 ( Im probably a little off there sorry) gets 26 points and so on.

so is it that Fast Track is your own minimum pts per day based on your weight range???

GRammy- I posted on the WW boards to ask the questions and the biggest respons I got was "don't do it". :D

But that said, no AP's and no Flex when you are on fast track. You can't stay on it for more than 2 weeks.

Here's a link to the program if you want it. Good luck!

I was told to stay at the 20 points for 2 weeks...but if I was losing too fast..(like that would happen) to add some points. My normal range is 26 plus flex points. I have been back to WW for 1 week now. I lost 2 pounds this week. I've been staying around 23-24 points.

I found last time around that if I stayed below my points range I wouldn't lose anything. If I added a few I lost. So I'm going back to 26 this coming week and see what happens.

Hi there! I work for WW, and the information we pass on about Fast Track is as follows:

The Fast Track program is designed to jump start your weight loss. Don't use it for more than two weeks at a time!

Follow the meal plans exactly as described. If you do activity, don't add extra points. (Unless you're doing more than 4 points worth of activity - in which case not eating the points can actually HURT you...)

That's the official line....

As someone who has USED the plan as a WW member (and not employee), eat the meal plans as described. If you find yourself hungry, eat based on your points target. (That's the points per day before FlexPoints). But ONLY use those extra points for good, healthy, NUTRICIOUS food!!!!!!! Eat fruits or vegetables, or lean, unprocessed meats. DON'T use the extra points for 2 points bars, or cookies, or crackers.....

For example, I should get 24 points per day. I'd follow Fast Track, and if I found myself hungry, I'd eat a banana for 2 points, and an orange for 2 points.

Dan-

I have been following your weight loss journey and appreciate your official input on the question. I think I have it now - BUT it is

Follow the meal plans exactly as described.

that usually trips me up - I never see "just a few" m & m's, chips or other treats listed on the allowed foods list - I have a tendency to "sneak" a few of these type things and then I wonder why I can't get rid of these last few pounds :p

You have been a real inspiration. Say, how about an update from you -- WISHers love to see pictures and are you having surgery to remove some excess skin before your wedding? And, of course, wedding and honeymooning at WDW will be anxiously awaited when that time comes.

AlreadyExcitedGrammy - just cause you asked me to:

http://www.theverythoughtofyou.net/before.jpg
Before: January, 2002 - 352 pounds

http://www.theverythoughtofyou.net/after.jpg
After: June, 2004 - 185 pounds

As for the random snacking - don't worry about it. When I'm doing Fast Track, I really have to make a concious effort to NOT do it. But all while I was loosing (before Fast Track) it was really difficult to not do that. I generally found that playing mental games with myself helped a LOT. If I found myself reaching for those M&M's, I would make sure and take a serving that I could count. If it was too many points, I'd see if I was really hungry, or just snacky. (Hence part of my DIS screen name!) If I was really hungry and I didn't want all the points, I'd have something lower in points.

As for updates, not much to tell. I've been trying to hold my weight between 182(ish) and 190(ish). So far, I've been pretty successful. If the Weight Watchers scale reads 190 or above, an alarm goes off, and I start to track all my food, and use losing points instead of maintenance points. I just take it one meal at a time, and do my best! :)

Thank you for reminding me! I have to call the plastic surgeon and schedule the surgery. It will happen AFTER the wedding and honeymoon. But it will happen.

So that's where I am! :)
