I usually get so frustrated reading about how many Disney related shows are on the Travel Channel - which I don't get because I use rogers cable. But I walked in last night and was so pleased to see a show on our discovery channel all about the Disney thrill rides - TOT, RoRnc, Dino, TT and Mission Space. It was repeated again at midnight, they may repeat it again - so keep your eyes open. If anyone here knows about any more Disney related shows on Canadian cable, please let the rest of us know.

Thanks for letting us know! I am with Rogers too and was frustrated by not being able to get the Travel Channel too! Too bad I missed the show; hopefully they'll air it again!

It's not Rogers Cable that is the problem.
The Travel Channel in the USA is not licensed for broadcast in Canada, since we have our own travel channel.

Does anyone happen to know the name of the show?

Never mind, my DH found the name of the show... it's called America's Thrillmakers and will next be shown on the Discovery Channel on July 4 at 10:00 & 2:00 pm.

We have our own travel channel because of government laws that restrict the amount of US programming that gets aired on Canadian TV. Same reason we have our own foodtv channel (and get stuck with way-old repeats of shows rather than the new stuff they show in the US).
We USED to get the US foodtv channel, until it was decided that we had to have our own. I'm assuming the same kind of thing happened with the travel channel. And SPACE, which we have instead of the US Sci-Fi network.
After all, why watch something that's already in place when you can spend a lot of time and effort to reinvent it all over again!

Cool! I'll have to remember to set my VCR!
I wish we could get all those Disney related shows too! :( The wedding and food related ones sound really neat.

I was lucky enough to catch the food episode and it was great. Hopefully the canadian travel channel will option it and make it available up here. If you have any friends with grey market dishes, ask them to tape it for you as it airs pretty regularily. (Thats how I say it)
