I've been reading through the menus on allears. Many of the appetizers sound appealing to me, as do their prices. Is it okay to just order an appetizer as a meal? Maybe with a side salad? I know I won't go hungry. I have a 4 year old who I KNOW won't finish his meal, and dh is good about sharing. If I order an appetizer, I'll be sure to tip a little extra.

I do this a lot. I'm not good with huge portions.

I did that alot when we went to WDW last year. In fact, at the Sci-Fi I ordered the salad with spiced walnuts and the chili appetizer and it was a GREAT meal!

I have always found that the restaurants at WDW are no different than restaurants IRL, you can order appetizers as meals, or split meals, or anything that a normal restaurant would allow you to do.

Dining solo last October, I made a meal out of the salmon and mushroom appetizers at the Rose and Crown. No problems at all, and all I had to drink was water.

I do this all the time at Disney and everywhere else. I always have to have a salad, so an appetizer is just right. Besides, that way I will have room for dessert!!

I have ordered appetizers for dinner without a problem. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something lighter than a typical dinner and an appetizer works out just fine. The servers don't bat an eye.

When I ate at Jiko solo in May, I ordered two appetizers and dessert, bypassing the entree altogether.

I was full without feeling overly stuffed. They don't frown upon people who order lightly. Many people like splitting the appetizer and entree between two people, so it's really not that uncommon.
