Loews First Upgrades?

Can anyone tell me exactly what the upgrade is? Would it be an upgrade from garden to pool view? Or would it be from standard room to club level? I know this is all based on availability. Just trying to decide what type of room I should book.

I think it depends on which hotel and what they have available. I have never been able to get an upgrade at RPR due to all the rooms always being booked while I am there. We booked a standard room at PBH once and were ugraded to a Deluxe room at the time I made the reservation. This was a step above the bayview I assume since at the time, the deluxe room rate was higher than bayview. We had to cancel that ressie so never got to enjoy it. :( I don't know what you would have to book to be offered club as your free upgrade. I'll bet someone here knows.

We've been upgraded to pool view from a standard view all 3 times we've stayed at either HRH or RPR. This was always done at check-in upon asking, not at the time of reservation (even though I was at gold level).

Now that I'm platinum, I'm interested in what will happen (if anything) on our next trip. Hoping to be upgraded to a kids' suite at the HRH - that would be nice!!

We were upgraded from pool view to club level without even asking but this was last July.
