Hi. I was just given a beautiful Mickey Mouse medallion coin. it is silver, encased in plastic in a nice box. It is a commemerative coin for Mickey & Minnies 75th anniversary in 2003. It is my understanding that only 200 of each coin (there is one for Minnie also) were minted and that they are not available any longer. I have been trying to research its history without much luck. Does anyone remember these? It is soooooo pretty and has lyricks to a song on it. very cute.
Just wondering if I need to find a special place to display this or if it can just go into our playroom with all the other Disney stuff (that's my disney room)
Thanks.
Shellie

I don't have an answer, sorry, but did you try posting on the Collectors board? Someone there might know. :)

Found this for ya:

Commemorate 75 years of Minnie with this collectible medallion. It is one troy ounce .999 fine silver medallion features the historic images of Mickey & Minnie that greeted filmgoers at the start of each adventure. A portrait of Minnie highlights the reverse. The second line of the lyrics from their 1929 theme song, ''Minnie's Yoo Hoo,'' wraps around the edge of the coin, while Mickey's coin starts the verse.

Arrives encased in acrylic. and velvet box

USA. Certificate of Authenticity. Limited Edition of 200

retailed for 69.00 when available through Disney

Got it from a For Sale ad on the web, so use the information for what it's worth (not my sale). Here is the web address I found:
