We were there and stayed off property from 12/25 through 1/5. It was so crowded :crowded: several of the days. We were never able to not get in though. We used Tour Guide Mike and got there as soon as the parks opened. We also had PS for every meal we had planned. We stayed until we could not stand the crowds and went home for afternoon naps, lunch, pooltime and then headed back for dinner or soon after. Some of our most fun filled nights were at the parks around 10 to midnight. We also did NYE at MGM and never left the park until after our Fantasmic Dinner. Did the Candlelight Processional-awesome- but make sure you make it a Dinner Package that way you are guaranteed a seat! Most of all have fun and enjoy the magic!;)

couple questions....What is the candlelight processional and where do you get the PS for that?

I keep hearing about the Osbourne lighting, or something like that, what is that and what park is that in?

The Osbourne lights is a display of holiday themed lights that was originally on someone’s personally property (The Osbourne Family - forget location) and they built it up year after year by adding more and more lights and scenes to their display.

After numerous years of this the local community had complained because people were traveling miles and miles to see the display and it was creating havoc for the entire community with the thousands of people coming from all over to see the display. They were ordered by a local government to tone it down but the family did not want to since they had put so much time and money into the display that they wanted to keep it intact so they started seeking locations to move the display to and it ended up being moved to WDW - Disney's MGM to be specific.

Each holiday season Disney sets up the display at MGM for all to see as the Osbourne's had done and was their only request, free of charge. If you are ever there during the holiday season (Day after Thanksgiving through January1) I would recommend going to MGM to see it. It is well worth it and a sight to behold. If and when you do, try to imagine this at someone residence and you will understand why the neighbors could not deal with it any longer, because it is truly a sight to see!!!

My first trip to WDW was Christmas week, and we stayed off-site. Never again!! We were not able to get into MK on two days, and MGM was closed on one day as well.

Now we only stay on site. The Swan/Dolphin has some good rates during Christmas time.

The advantages of Christmas week is the park hours are much longer and the weather is beautiful, although it can be a bit chilly in the evening.
