I was reading some other posts and saw this mentioned a few times. What exactly is it and does it save a lot of time? We are flying out of Phill Ariport via US Airways in October. I bought my tickets though AAA and I don't have an actual ticket, just a receipt that somewhat looks like a ticket. I'm assuming I'll get the ticket at the airport?? What is meant by checking in on-line? I looked on the PHL website and couldn't find anything about it. How about printing boarding passes?? Thank for taking pity on me and my lack of knowledge

Go to US Airways web site to see if they offer online check in. You could also call them. They will have all the info you need.

Airports don't do onine check in, it is individual airlines. Some offer it, some don't.

Us airways does do online check in...up to 24 hours in advance. We've done it once before. You just print your boarding passes out when you check in online and if you choose to do curbside check in ....you can proceed right to security.

Thanks :) I checked there site and it looks like I can also use a Self-Service Check-In kiosks at the airport. Thanks for the additional info. I *might* try printing them at home, just need to remember them when I leave

I've used online check-in for USAir a few times. You just go to their website 24 hours before (or less). You have the opportunity to check seats available if you want to change your seats. Then print them out. To make it easier, cut the page where they show you, between the actual boarding pass and your copy. It works great when I go on business trips where I don't check luggage, I can just head straight to security when arriving at the airport. The lines at the kiosks can be long early in the morning (never knew so many people traveled at 6:30am). You get 1,000 bonus miles the first time you use it, 100 thereafter.

If doing an online check-in through US AIR, how do you know which seats are good if you've never flown before?

We are a family of 3 and I'd like a window, middle and isle to stay together. Then we can switch back and forth if we feel froggy. I don't think I want to be near the window (unless heavily medicated) but I'm sure DH would...
