While talking to Byron he informed that there are approx 200members in my surrounding area-meaning not far from me. I was just wondering who my neighbors are "up north". If you don't mind disclosing where you are feel free. We live in Plainfield-South Suburbs of Chicago!:smooth:

Just thought I'd be the second person to shout out on behalf of Southern Illinois in the St. Louis metropolitan area. I live in the Belleville area. I often wonder if there is much DVC representation from St. Louis area on the east side of the Mississippi River. Those of you in Chicagoland make me jealous because you've definitely got the population advantage up there. That was quite noticeable when I was a student at the University of Illinois. Whenever the Blues and Black Hawks squared off, I'd yell whenever the Blues scored...and the rest of the dorm would yell whenever the Hawks scored. :)

We love, love, love HH. We've been the last several summers -- adding on every year we were there. Now we have enough points for Sun-Sat stay every year so we're set for a while (maybe :teeth: ). This will be our first year driving the drive after flying to WDW 3 times. It's going to be quick getting there, it's the drive back that's going to be really tough. You are right, there is no easy, direct flight that we were able to book AND we were willing to pay. $2100 r/t for 4 is much more than I'm willing to spend (especially when we can fly Spirit Air to Orlando 3 times for that amount!!). So, we'll do the driving route and hope that one day, airfare will be better on the O'Hare to Savannah route.

We've lived in Rockford for the past four years. Surprised I haven't come across anyone else from the Rockford area yet since it's a pretty big city for Illinois.

Although - we did have someone from DeKalb and another from Sycamore - we did live in Genoa for 2 1/2 years.

Finally, grew up on the far southeast side of Chicago (lived there about 25 years). The community was called Hegewisch. Anyone here heard of it??

Surprised by how many are from Orland/New Lenox. My brother lives in New Lenox and teaches at Carl Sandburg and his wife teaches at Providence.

While talking to Byron he informed that there are approx 200members in my surrounding area-meaning not far from me. I was just wondering who my neighbors are "up north". If you don't mind disclosing where you are feel free. We live in Plainfield-South Suburbs of Chicago!:smooth:

Crystal Lake here, and we do have 3 kids so I'd agree with those posters about the cold weather. Two of ours were born in July and August, so we were obviously trying to stay warm around the holidays!

knix and stubble94...we really are neighbors! We moved to Herrin in 2001...right across from the old drive-in. For those of you non-Chigacoland folks I'm just past the Marion exit on I-57 as you head to Southern Illinois University on Rt. 13...remember the little airport? Blink and you'll miss my turn. DH and I are both originally from Murphysboro. I've got family in Mulkeytown...used to live in Christopher until remarrying a couple years ago.

We just became DVC members over Thanksgiving...bought in while on our first cruise!

Checking in from south suburb of Crestwood.
I see I have a few neighbors in Oak Forest.

I am a Loan Officer for Washington Mutual in Orland Park and I'm not at all surprised by all the people in Homer Glen, Lockport, New Lenox, Flossmoor, Plainfield, etc. The south suburbs have been booming for the past 10 years. We have put a lot of people in new homes out in that area. I probably refinanced a lot of you in 2002-2003. The "south suburbs" are getting further and further south every year. Our home values have finally increased in proportion to the northern & western suburbs. We used to be the "step-children" of the housing market. Not any more!!
