I was just on the website for Seaworld Orlando and it talks about a show called Mistify. Can anyone tell me some more about this? Is it like Illuminations at Epcot?

Thanks!

From the sounds of it it does sound like it. If it is anything like Seaworld normally does it will be a ton of lasers a little water and a extremely small amount of fireworks.

Then again they may supprise us this year. I'm not holding my breath for anything too spectacular.

Just got back from SWO and DC--

we stayed at the Renaissance with a view of Sea World---two of the nights, long after hours (midnight-2 or 3 am) they seemed to be testing some of the show elements for "Mistify". There are definitely big fountains, and the fireworks we saw were decent.

Is this show on now or scheduled to begin in July? We will be there next week........any chance we'd be able to catch it???

Loved illuminations.......so very excited to see what Seaworld can do!

Curly:

NOT on at the moment (at least not as of this past Monday). I inquired at Guest Services about the possibility of a soft opening, but they would only say "July".

Don't hold your breath.

Interesting. I was thinking of going this week because based on the website it looks like the show has already opened. If Mystify hasn't started yet we may do IOA this week instead. I will post if I find out anything.

Nancy:

If you check the www.seaworld.com site again, look at the bottom of the main page...there's a disclaimer that "Mistify will thrill you from July through Labor Day".

Fine print.

On Tuesday's(6-22-04) park map it reads- Fireworks Finale- Conclude your day with our Water fountain and Fireworks Spectacular- Location- Waterfront-Time 10:00 PM

So they're probably testing some of the parts of Mistify for the guests now.

Doesn't matter, they have both been fully open for business and operating for a little over a month. Mistify and The Spice Mill are the only things that have been soft opening/ testing in the past week or so.

I saw Mystify on Saturday night, and it isn't too bad, but it doesn't compare to the night shows at Disney. First, you have to make sure you are at the Waterfront to watch it, and the closer you are to the front near the water, the better. Second, the show combines water screens, fireworks, music, and water fountains. Third, there is a "plot" to it as well. The story you watch is a child's dream with him looking for Shamu in the ocean. I guess what I found ironic is that Shamu is actually not in the ocean, but rather in the park. The other portion I didn't particularly enjoy was the fact that yet again, sharks play the bad guys. Other than that, I make the comparison of this to the Fantasmic show with their water screens and fireworks. It's about comparable to that. I think kids will enjoy it, and I did like the fireworks.

You'll be there a couple of weeks before me spidey, so I can't wait to read your trip report before I go to help me plan.
