I went ahead and tried it. I planted radishes. We'll see in 4 - 6 days how well they do.

Seed tape is a paste & paper & seeds. You set the seeds out in the spacing they need to grow. This saves you having to thin your veggies or flowers out.

All the seeds are the correct depth too. Which helps me because I tend to bury them.
I've used the commercial ones with very good results.

Hi Shoppie! :D :flower3:
I look forward to hearing how your seed tape radishes do. My Dad often plants radishes, and if yours do well, maybe I can get him to try it out next time. :)

Do you have to use a certain kind of paste and/or paper?

I found on the internet:
flour
water
seeds
newspaper
mix flour & water into a thick paste. Dab onto small strips on newspaper (must not have colors - black and white only). Place seeds on the paste and let dry. They say you can do this months ahead. We'll see... the first set went into the ground yesterday.

My radishes are starting to come in from the seed tape I planted. I had to point them out to my DH so he doesn't pull them while I'm in NYC this weekend. So the verdict: It does work really well. If your gonna try it make sure the newspaper doesn't have colors on it - use plain black & white news print pages.
Good luck everyone!!!
