View Full Version : Anyone collect the big snowglobes?

I've decided to start collecting them. Just got my first 3 (for $40 each) at The Disney Store! Does anyone know if that price is really good? It seems like it is (since the regular prices are from $50 to over $100), and I wonder if I should buy a few more while they're so cheap...?

Yes! Those are good prices!
Definitely take advantage of their $39.99 sales
and half price sales at TDS!
Disney Store will run specials periodically...
sometimes for a day, sometimes for a week...
and we never know when they are going
to occur... the powers that be email stores daily
telling them what needs to go where, what is
on a day special, week special or what...
on a typical Saturday say, they will get an
email saying all DVD's are $10 until further notice
sometimes later in that day they will get an
email saying pull it, sometimes it will last a
couple of days...
needless to say this really frustrates customers!
I worked at our store for a short time, so, I
remember this well!
Check on DisneyDeals.com also... sometimes they
have even better deals... BUT! beware... I recently
ordered a globe from the catalog for $38.00 - with
free shipping, it is now on DEALS for $44.00
(only a FEW dollars, but still is a difference) plus
shipping, and the catalog still has it for $38.00
Occasionally, but not often you will see one sold
in the parks in the catalog on sale, the parks never
have sales... like the main street one with the train
station and the clock is from the parks and the
catalog.
Good luck and have fun! Welcome to the addicting
world of snow globes! (warning: DO NOT, I repeat
DO NOT get into pins... they are WORSE!!!)
I have roughly 20 small globes 2 mediums and my
latest big one arrived yesterday making this #6!

We have a few of them. Whenever we get a house, I will actually enjoy displaying them. For now, I have a closet full of pretty boxes. lol Maggie

lol-I hear ya! I don't have anyway to display them right now. I need something that will keep my kids from getting at them!

I've got 7 and just ordered my 8th. Just wanted to throw in that you should also check out ebay and do a search for Disney Snowglobes. I just nabbed a snowglobe/statue of the Evil Queen from Snow White. The catalog sells it for $129, I got it brand new, never opened from Ebay for $75.

I was at the disney store tonight and the large snowglobes that were $39.99 last week were $29.99! The small ones were $3.99 with the exception of the new ballerina princess ones. So much for trying to back off the collecting!

We collect Snowglobes too and the Disney Store Sales have been great for adding to the collection! We have quite a few, but not as many as we have pins LOL.

Yes but I'm getting a little discouraged from buying anymore! I probably have 40-50 (still have a few hiding in closets) and no matter how careful and how special I take care of them . . . . a few develop those nasty air bubbles. Really aggravates me to spend over a hundred bucks and then have the air bubbles with no way to remedy the situation.
I don't think I'm going to buy anymore. I'm certainly not paying full price for anymore~!

I never ended up buying anymore of the big snowglobes. I sure was tempted many times though, especially the online deals at TDS!! I think I'm going to wait till we go back to the World next Feb. to buy another there-that will be special. :) (Unless I happen to come across any Peter Pan themed ones for a good price! I LOVE Peter Pan stuff!!!)

i LOVE my snowglobes!! and i totally agree with not paying full price for one unless you just CAN NOT wait anylonger!! the DS sale was great! i just happened to be in a bigger city that has the DS. i had no idea about the sale. well, needless to say i bought eight! LOL it was fun because the DS was on the 2nd level of the mall. disneystore.com almost always puts them on sale for $20.00 off after they have been out for a while.
this is so addicting!! i mean, how may snowglobes have you seen that you didnt want?? i actually have a temp controlled storage for mine. ( waiting for that house also ) i lost count of how many i have, but DH guesses over 100:earseek:

My wife & I started collecting some last year & then told ourselves we'd stop because we had too many. Well, every time the Disney Store has a big sale on snowglobes, we break our promise & add to our collection. I've actually made room in our den now to display them so we can appreciate them more. I see no end in sight.
