Here's a link to an article about C2 if you're not familiar with it: MSNBC Coke C2 (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4900885) Essentially, it's Coke made with Splenda to offer a sweet taste with fewer calories. I've tried the Hawaiian Punch version made with Splenda, and thought it was pretty good, so I'm looking forward to trying C2. After all, one can of it is worth only 1 WW point instead of the 3 points with a regular can ;) I thought I'd read somewhere that it was coming out today, but couldn't find it at the one place that I stopped this morning.

Our Kroger ad said it would be available here on the 11th. The Pepsi product is out in stores now.

I saw the story for it, and my question was - why? It's still got sugar in it. I'd much rather either have Diet Coke, or Diet Rite with no sugar at all. I've always prefered the taste of the caffeine-free Diet to regular, anyway.

Now - if Coke would come out with a sugar-free cola sweetened with Splenda instead of Nutrasweet - I'd be all over it! ;)

I suspect I'm exactly their target market. I've reduced my consumption of Coke because of the calories. Diet Coke is okay, but I really like Coke a lot better. I could definitely see my soda consumption increasing due to this product. There's still the caffeine problem, so I'll just have to hope that a caffeine-free version is also in the works.

One can still has 20 grams of carbs/sugars!! For many of us on low-carb diets, this is almost a whole day's worth of carbs in one can! I guess I won't be buying it. That's too bad - I was hoping Pepsi & Coke would follow in Diet Rite's shoes and actually offer something sugar free without Aspartame.

I tried it last night, and I wasn't impressed. I'm so used to drinking Diet Coke, that even the sugary-syrupy sweet in C2 kinda bothered me. But I'm not the target market. DH, who hates diet soda, liked it. He could tell a difference, but he didn't hate it.

Thats cool I might have to try it. I can't stand aspertame after taste of diet sodas.

Plus my chiropractor told me aspertame is bad and has links to cancer. But what doesn't these days. LOL

Yeah, I tend to discount a lot of those studies where they show that if you feed rats the equivalent of 300 diet cokes a day, they develop tumors ;) I think if you're good about moderation, then you won't have anything to worry about. In the end, Splenda, sugar, aspartame, and saccharin are all chemicals after all.

I really like the taste. I still has 13grams of sugar carbs but they added sucralose to make up for the corn syrup. I normally drink Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Cherry Coke or Diet Sierra Mist but sometimes I really want a regualr cola. I can't stand Diet Coke or Pepsi so this Edge is great. I can drink a regular tasting cola with only half the guilt ::yes::

The local McDonald's is giving them away with any purchase, so I got to try it at lunch today. I thought it was good. It felt like it had less of that "sugar bite" than regular coke, but not so much that you'd know right away it was lower in calories. I prefer fountain to canned coke, so I'm not sure how much of the difference was due to the can and how much of it was the product itself. I have heard that they will offer it as a fountain drink, so I'll have to keep a lookout for that.

I found it at a Wal-Mart Supercenter last night. It tastes GREAT, but even though they use sucralose, they also use aspertame in it. :( I probably won't buy it again until they go completely to sucralose. Why would they use both aspertame AND sucralose? I'll stick to the Diet Rites for now.

I bought a bottle last night & I thought it was good. To me it tastes a lot like regular coke (which I used to be addicted to :teeth: ). DH who it the pickiest (sp?) person I know  tasted it & liked it also. Today I was shopping & they gave samples of Pepsi Edge & I really liked that too.

Actually tried it for the 1st time the day we were leaving Disney. We went to the McDonalds at the CrossRoads and were given free samples. Came home to GA and our McDonalds were also giving out free cans.

I think its for people who won't drink diet because of the taste but don't want all those calories. It really tastes like regular coke. But for 70 calories a can, I'll stick with diet coke and splurge my extra calories on chocolate!

I tried it, one of my friends had a bottle. It was nothing that great, it was just like regular Coke. To me, that is bad. I have been drinking Diet Coke and Pepsi One for so long that the "real" stuff is too sweet! Give me a Pepsi One or a Diet Coke over C2 any day!

I agree, I would rather have pepsi one or diet pepsi, the new coke tasted the same to me except it sort of tasted like caffeine free coke to me. I won't be buying it though.

OK I tried this today (C2) and didn't like it. I still could taste an after taste and I'd rather have the occasional coke than lots of these. I think it's something one could get used to - but not for me. :)
