question on birthday cruise or other ways to celebrate special events

Hi, I'm new to this so be gentle.
I'm trying to book a birthday cruise to see Illuminations for my son's 21st birthday. On the wdwinfo site was listed the Yacht and Beach Birthday Fireworks cruise for up to 16 guests by calling 407.934.3750 to book. When I called they said I couldn't book a cruise through them to call wdw-play. When I called there they said they only can fit 12 guests. Has anyone every done this cruise or has any other ideas how to celebrate a birthday. We visit Disney often and were looking for something different to do.
