Budget car rental at Sanford Airport ?

Has anyone ever used budget car rental at Sanford ? I read that budget is not at the airport but nearby.

Is transportation provide by budget and how close are they located to the airport? I have never rented from a company that was not directly located at the airport, but I got a good rate with budget and am trying to decide if it is worth the $65.00 I am saving by renting with budget.

Any help or tips would be great.

Get on the airport website: www.orlandosanfordairport.com and then go to the ground transportation link for choices. We're using Happy Limo (a stretch!!) both ways this year!!

I had reserved Budget for our upcoming trip to Sanford - it was about 50$ less than the others. However I was worried that their off site office closes at 5 on Sunday and our flight is due to arrive around 4:40 so I emailed customer service to ask if this was too close to closing to guarentee a shuttle. I never received a response so I canceled the reservations and will stick to on site companies. I figured even with a 10 minute flight delay- I might be stranded without a car. Not worth the worries!

Hertz has a 'drop box' so you can return your car and keys regardless of the time.

Carinne, we had the same predicament, arriving and leaving on a Sunday. We thought it out and figured we'd just use the van for the arrival to Sanford on 8/29 return the van to the Budget at the Double Tree Suite hotel at DTD on 9/1 when we check in to ASMo and get a car service to take us back to the airport on 9/5. This way we saved on the car service because my DSis has Amex Rewards enough to pay for the car rental. Maybe you could use it just one way and return it somewhere else?
