We're booked @ ASM the end of sept. for 8 nights. I currently am booked with the 5 plus 2 deal. I was wondering what kind of discounts usually come up with an AP? Since the 5+2 deal includes the cost of passes free for the 2 free days, I'm not sure if the discount from an AP would be worth it. (I probably won't be able to go back within the year.) I'm feeling pressured since I don't know if there will be any discounts at all, & will the be released in time? I have to change the booking before my 45 day deadline, right? I've never been to WDW so i'm sorry if the questions seem like I don't know what I'm doing- that's cause I don't! Any help is appreciated!

It sounds like an AP is not for you. An AP would be a good deal for one person's ticket entry (IF you go to the parks ALL 8 days) as well as hotel discounts.

How many are in your party that are benefitting from the 2 days of tickets?

Have you priced all of this separately before booking the package? I'm just curious.

You picked a great time of the year to go! I love September/October!

I priced both with the CM when I made my ressie. I had already purchased our airline tickets for the week of Sept 4-11 months ago because there is only one direct flight a day from Dayton to MCO so I wanted to make sure we made the flight.

I had decided that if the discount was deep enough it would be worth it to pay the fee to change our vacation plans to August.

Here's how it worked out:

AP = 1738.70 Room Only at Poly
408.00 AP pass (per mousavers.com)
275.00 Adult 5 day park hopper plus

That = 2421.00 + 200.00 to change airline tickets.

5+2 deal: approx 2300.00 (it was 2280 something)

As you can see it was 100.00 more for the AP rate by the time I bought the AP then it would cost me an additional 200.00 to change the airline tickets.

The AP rate is good if you already had the AP pass, but it didn't work out for us. Even though we are going next year in June and would utilize the pass and rate again the extra 300.00 put me over budget for this year.

Now...if they were to offer AP rates for September...I would probably change my package and go with the AP, absorb the 100.00 cost for next year's vacation.

In response to your question re: how many in our party. There are 2 (my son & I) for sure, with a good chance that my boyfriend will be joining us. I was only going to buy the AP to get the hotel discount. I've figured that I'm saving approx 400.00 with the current deal (5+2) if I don't factor in my significant other. I would like to plan to have 1 day to stay @ the resort & do NOTHING.

I think you are better off with your current deal.

Have Fun!

I have more math in the past two weeks trying to figure out if an AP will work for me. Since we are going in both Oct '05 and Oct '06 - I figured even if I didn't get the hotel discount - it will be worth the money. I really hope I do get the AP discount for my 2006 trip, though - I want to stay at the Poly!

Also, my husband plays golf and there is a 30% discount associated with the AP, which will save us some money!
