Occasionally, I see Barefootin' in the Keys Resort pop up on the Ready Set Go availability list. I drove by it last week while checking out Tropical Palms and Old Town. Whoo, it looks nothing like the pictures!!!

Granted I only saw the outside from the road, but it looks like a tiny little rundown dumpy place. It's right behind the Days Suites. At first, I thought it was part of DS because it was the same loud colors, but then I saw the resort sign. It's hard to explain what they look like. They remind me of those Jim Walter prefab homes that have been neglected for a long while.

Maybe they're nice on the inside, I don't know. But personally, I would not book them w/o being able to check them out inside beforehand.

If there's anyone here that has stayed there and can offer a different opinion, please do so. I just wasn't personally impressed with the place.

I notice this resort comes up on the RSG auctions when no other one does, which is never a good sign. LOL.

Thanks for the heads up.

I did a quick tour of " Bare footin" a few years ago. Yes it is very small, but it's newer than several others. The inside of the units were small, but they were tropically decorated and well kept. The front desk and other employees that I came across were very nice, friendly and helpful!. The pool is small but pretty nice too. I would not discount this resort ... It would be great for a couple that spent most of thier time at the parks. I know that I would rather stay here than several other timeshares in the area and I have pretty high expectations. And it does have a great location.

Bigsis1970,

TP looks like a neat place. Nothing fancy. It kinda reminds me of a KOA campground. From the outside, it looked very clean. The "cabins" have nice sized decks.

I wouldn't mind staying there! Old Town and lots of eating places are within walking distance. The Pizza Hut was pretty good (no buffet or salad bar, though). The KFC was a zoo and very slow, though.

Melynny,

I was just going on how the outside looks now. It looks really run down and not maintained very well. I don't know if they have maintained the inside or not. Hopefully someone who has stayed there recently (in the last year) will chime in w/ a personal experience. I just know personally, if I paid more than $270 for a RSG, I wouldn't be very happy w/ it. Anyway, that's JMHO.
