View Full Version : Couple of airporty type questions

I have my money now for the holiday in August but the smallest note I have is a $20 bill. Is there shops or a machine with easy access to arrivals that I can get change for the tolls?
Also we have 2 cars booked. One of them will need to have a child seat fitted. I have heard that the queues at the car hire place can be pretty terrible. We were told by TCD that we would have to arrange the child seat locally - is there anything we can do about this in advance to save on loads of waiting around.
Any hints or tips would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

I'm pretty sure they'll have plenty of car seats at the hire car place - one tip to save you money though - the hire car child seats are pretty cruddy and expensive over 2 weeks - just hire it for 1 day and buy yourself one from Walmart for 20 dollars - it'll work out a lot cheaper and it'll be better quality.

We usually take our own car seats with us Lisa - the hire co. ones can be pretty awful - sorry! Airlines don't seem to have any trouble taking them into the hold with luggage as long as they are labelled.
Can't remember much about Sanford - only been once, I think the trolley machine takes big bills and gives you change. Can't remember seeing a shop in arrivals though, but there are plenty petrol stations on Lake Mary Blvd before you hit any tolls.

The toll booths on the Central Florida Greeneway have signs saying the largest bill (note) they accept is a $20.
So you should be alright! I think they say that so that us tourists don't all roll up one after another with $100s and take all their change!
I keep my change from one trip to pay for tolls on the next trip - no help if its your first time

We booked with Dollar. No queues at all, and we had the car in about 15 minutes - took that time for the guy to key in all the details.
If it's Sanford you're going on the 417. The first toll is manned so you can get change there.
