When I first started at the gym back in January the only cardio machine I used was the treadmill. I would do an incline of 15 for 30 minutes to an hour, 5 days a week. Within 3 months I lost 13 pounds and about 7 inches total. Well then I got tired of the treadmill and started using the Elipptical and the stairmaster, I haven't lost a thing. Has anyone noticed if one machine works better for them then another? I thought if it was cardio, it was supposed to help you lose. I am starting back on the treadmill and hope the scale will start moving again.

Mine's just the opposite. I realized that the treadmill wasn't pushing me enough and getting my heart rate up. So, I switched to the eliptical and feel that I get a much better workout. Last night I did a Cross Train machine (or something like that) for the first time and didn't get as good of a workout as I do on the eliptical.

I think you need to mix it up. I used to think the cross trainer was great, then the glider and now I am starting to think the treadmill burns the most calories for me and challenges me the most vs. the glider. I still use the glider most days, but today I mixed in the stairstepper and the treadmill. I start out with an incline of 10 and work my way up to 20. My speed on the treadmill is about 3.6 to 4.0. I find I burn the most calories on the treadmill but I like the glider for my legs/hip area. The treadmill I use for 2 miles and the glider for 3. I will really see the results within the next month or so since I just recently added in the treadmill everyday along to my glider routine so I think it will take a while to really see results.
