Just got back from the official WDW site and read about a breakfast at Tony's Town Square Restaurant for Grand Gatherings. Anyone done it? Thoughts? As you might have read in my other posts, I am trying to organize a trip for 10 people. We just registered as a Grand Gathering. I am thinking of going to
Chef Mickey's for our character breakfast but then I saw this.... help...

Tony's used to be our favorite place for breakfast, before they stopped serving it and only offered lunch and dinner. I was surprised to see it too, when I looked at the website yesterday. A bus driver told us once, that Tony's was where a lot of cast members like to eat breakfast, because it was so good. But that was a couple of years ago. I hope they do, what a better way to start a vacation, than having a nice sit down breakfast right in the Magic Kingdom!!

Honestly, it wasn't my favorite breakfast for what we paid. The food was fair. I won't do it again, at least not for breakfast.

Hulabird,
Did you recently do this as a Gathering, or was this experience a while ago?
PamMulan,
Do you know how long ago they closed this restaurant?
No one has gone there recently? I really want to go to CM's, but I thought this one looked good too, being they are right in the park. Thoughts?
Thanks.

We just got back and did do it. My kids had a blast! Tony sang and they did the hokey pokey and other things. It was one of the wilder breakfasts I have been to.

Gosh, it had been closed I think for about 2-3 years. I know it has been a while. I am so glad it is open again. We just thought the whole atmosphere, good food and being right in the Magic Kingdom for a nice breakfast was the best.
Is it a character breakfast now? It sounds like it is "jazzed up" a little. It used to be just a quiet, little place to get some good food.

Just wondering if this breakfast is some sort of "specialty" thing??
Dosen't sound like it's open for a normal breakfast, as in the past.

I would also love to know if this is just a special event or if Tony's is reopening for good at breakfast. It used to be our last day tradition to eat a late breakfast there. Loved the waffles!!

I used to love Tony's for breakfast, but I hear that it is now open for breakfast exclusively for Grand Gatherings groups, and not "regular" guests. :(

That's what I thought--.
Too bad. It was always a regular stop for us on MK day.
