We will be @ US/IOA for 2 days in August staying @ the RPH. Do I need a touring plan to see everything (we will have children ages 7,9,4, or should we just wing it?

I am not really sure what to expect!

If you read these boards to make sure you see everthing, you will be fine. As long as you have the FOTL you do not need much of a plan as you will not have to wait in lines. The only things you may need to plan out are the shows to make sure you see them all.

IMO, we went last week for the first time, and we just got the map and walked around the big circle of the park... there really ARENT that many attractions to hit, when it comes right down to it, and with the FOTL, we did the entire US park in about 2 hours... So I don't think you'll need one. Just grab a map and start to the left or right =)

When in August are you going?
The first two weeks are peak season. The last 2 weeks are better as kids go back to school. Even if you stay onsite, it's still good to arrive early to beat the crowd. You wait at the gate before 9am, go in first, and tour the park. At 11am, the crowd hits and the walk ways fill up with lots of people, plus it is hot.

The thing with your kids, is that the 9 and possible 7 year old can make the height requirement for the coasters, and Dr. Doom. While the 4 year old won't. So you may want to let the spouse take the 4 year old to the play ground areas, while you go on the big kid rides. Take a lap around the park together, then set up a meeting place and split up for a couple hours.
