Okay ladies, after receiving all of my glorious MK swap stuff, I am going to invest in some eyelet stuff. I saw a little hammer set at Michaels, which I will buy with the next coupon....where is a good place to buy the different colored eyelets? Michaels? Online somewhere? I want to start slow, and just get the simple colored eyelets at first.
Thanks!

I *love* eyelets :)
I ususally use either the ones from Making Memories or doodlebug-
Doodlebug is nice when you just need a few of each color (I think there is 20 in a pack) Making Memories has some great combo sets that have 5/6 different colors in them along with packs of single colors and they also have some cute other shapes (stars/hearts etc) With Making Memories you get usually 100+ in a box but they do come in a nice storage container-
Often times a Scrapbook store sells them indivually for 5 cents each- Which I love if its a color I know I wont need lots of (like pink...) or if I can't decide what shade of green looks best-
I think now days there are setters that are interchangable but the "old school" one I have just sets the basic size-
Just make sure when ya set them you do it on a surface that can be dinged and dented (ie NOT the kitchen table...) I have a spare piece of board I use to set them on-

I bought my first eyelet set off of QVC. The set came with six different colors of eyelets and the hammer and eyelet setter. Just an idea for you.

Oh boy oh boy....I went to Michael's today, JUST TO LOOK....I can't believe I haven't wanted to do this before today! I didn't buy anything (can you believe it!) because my mom is coming up at the end of the week and she has the tools...she said she would bring them so I can play with them. On Tuesday my LSS has double punches on their frequent buyer card, so I am going there to buy several colors of eyelets and vellum. Can't wait!

Just a hint from a relative newby . . .
I use an old Spiegel catalog to pound on when I set eyelets. Why buy something special when an old catalog works just fine!
Have fun experimenting, Alice! I love the look eyelets give to a page.

Welcome to the fun side!
I stayed away from eyelets for so long and now I love them. They just seem to add something to the page.
I buy a lot on line
www.eyeletqueen.com is a good one
