This will be our first time at US/IOA and would like to know if there are any restaurants that shouldn't be missed. We have 3 children ages 8,11 & 14 and thought there might be a neat restaurant that they'd enjoy. Also, any other helpful info would be appreciated.

My two boys and I went in April. They are 8 and 10. We LOVED Mythos, very good food and we sat on the patio and watched the Hulk from across the beautiful lake. This restaurant has great kids meals and wonderful atmosphere. We also loved the Nascar cafe and NBA. Have a great trip.

Margaritaville was our favorite. It's a lively, fun place and the portions are huge.

I think a lot of people will tell you Mythos is a restaurant that cannot be missed. They are right. Kelly Monaghan gives a very good description of it in his book: Universal Orlando, you can read the section on Mythos here:

There are other places around IOA that offer a great meal too. I liked Blondie's in Toon Lagoon, and Confisco Grille in the Port of Entry. If you are in US the food isn't as great but for a good sitdown place try Lambart's Landing.

The citywalk also has some good dining.

We were there last week. We ate at Mythos, Hard Rock Cafe and Emeril's. All different from each other and all VERY good. It depends on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. Obviously, Emeril's was quite expensive. The other two were quite affordable.

In addition to the above mentioned restaurants, Latin Quarters is not to be missed. It was wonderful!! The chips and salsa are to die for!!!!

We also went nuts over the salsa at the Latin Quarter. Good food. We LOVED Mythos. Also love the Pig sandwich at the Hard Rock Cafe.

We are going to be at the US/IOA staying at the HRH 8/1-8/4. I am not familiar with the City Walk are. Is it similar to Disney's PI? I would like to try Margaritaville and Emerils will we need to purchase admission to dine there?

There is no admission charge for city walk. Some of the clubs have a cover charge after a certain time. You will not have to pay a "fee" to eat there.

Be sure to make reservations at Emeril's. Reservations are a "must". I think I made my dinner reservations three months in advance.
