We have never stayed at RPR and I was wondering if it is possible to get a room with a pool view that also has a view of the parks? If so which tower should I ask for? I already have a water view room but I am about to fax in a more specific request.
Thanks!

Tower 1 or 2 give the best park views. Looking at the map I'd say no to park/pool view rooms unless the one end of the y for Tower 3. RyGuy is your answer man on this and I think he may be at USO.

Try for a room in tower 3 on the 5th floor under the Presidential suites. I know for sure that the Presidential suites have views of the pool and the parks and there is one located on the 7th (club access only) floor and one on the 6th floor. As the hallway splits you would go right and these rooms are on the right hand side as far down as possible. They are also the longest walk from the elevators. If you can get a room in that area you should have the best view in the hotel and the same as those staying in one of the Presidential suites. I'm staying at RPR tomorrow night for the opening of the Mummy so I will try and get you some numbers of rooms in that area.

universalnewbie,
I think that the following room numbers on the 5th floor of tower 3 will have the best views of IOA and the pool. 3528-3536 are the last five rooms in the hallway and are far enough over for you to see the themeparks as well as the pool. This span of five rooms is the size of one of the presidential suites and will have the same view.
aupton,
The rooms closest to the elevator in tower 3 on the club level are rooms 3700-3718 (pool view) and 3701-3719 (standard view). 3700 and 3701 are the first rooms from the elevator. The closer you get to 3719 the closer you are the the lounge.
3700 and 3701 are king suites and 3706 and 3707 are hospitality suites. The suite locations are the same for all floors in tower 3. The only thing that changes is the second number depending on the floor. Ex) 3706 tower 3 floor 7 room 06

aupton,
We stayed at RPR Friday night and went to the special passholder event for the opening of the Mummy. This ride is awesome! We waited 45 minutes the first time, 10 the second and walked on the third. As it got closer to midnight the park cleared out more and more. Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, and Twister were also open. We ate dinner Fri night at Margaritaville and had lunch at Hardrock Cafe before leaving on Sat afternoon. IOA was jammed on Sat. Even the Express lines were longer than I have ever seen them. Trip was very short but very fun.

No upgrades this time due to the hotel being full. I did get the themepark view in tower 1 and it was ready at 1PM. I had room 1746. Same room as in October just two floors higher.

RyGuy--Is 1746 considered a standard room? We are arriving in June and would like to have a room with a great view of the park.

1746 is a standard view room.
We had room 2533 and it was a lovely view of the highway:p For $119 I sure wasn't complaining. We were only in the room at night anyway.

We have a water-view room reserved. I don't care how close it is to anything, but I'd like a really pretty view, preferably in a quiet area. I'd especially like to see the lagoon instead of the park. Or is it nicer to look at the pool? I also don't want to look at roads. Anywhere in particular to recommend?

DizneeCM,
You can have a view of all three if you check out my first post of this thread. If you don't really care about the parks view just ask for a pool view on an upper floor to avoid any palm tree obstructions. The lagoon is just beyond the pool so any upper floor pool view room will give you a beautiful view of both the pool and the lagoon.

I just got back from RPR and they were going to upgrade us to a pool view. I said that I would rather have a park view from Tower 1 unless they had a pool view from the end of Tower 3. They gave us 1729 which is the best room I've had there in our 5 visits. The view included the water taxi route and bridge to RPR which Disney would call a water view. From the west you could see Dudley Do-Right, Dueling Dragons, Dr. Doom, Hulk, the Lighthouse, Shrek blow-up on the USO arch, Hard Rock Hotel to the north, Citywalk and RPR wing to the east. Laying in bed you could watch and hear the low drone of the Hulk.
The best standard rooms in Tower 1 are 1719-1733 (odd#) and 1740- 1754 (even#).
Friday night we had 1705 which was supposed to be park view but was more parking lot and parking garage. It was 1/2 of an adjoining room and was handicap with the sink in the bathroom. The adjoining room door made the closet tiny.
If I was going to request a specific room it would be 1733.

I am glad you had good rooms . did you have far to walk to the elevators ?
How about club level ? which is the best club level you have had ?
I cannot wait to go again but have to wait for more than a year !
Where did you eat this time ? Did you indulge in the island's buffett meals ? How about b'fast ?

1733 is as far as you can get from the elevator on the end of one leg of the "Y". We took the stairs outside our door down and exited at the walkway to IOA/ dog walking area. 1705 was only 2 or 3 rooms from the elevator.
The kids and I go to USO for the attractions and we stay on-site for the "magic keys". When my wife goes with us we have to worry about meals but for us the primary is the rides. We were at the park turnstiles every morning before they opened and hit the most popular rides first like Mummy and Hulk. I didn't want to weigh the kids down with a heavy breakfast so we would just get a churro or something from a cart between rides. We ate lunch early (11:30) at Mythos, Finnegan's or Lombard's. I used the APH Frequent Diners Club card and the 5th lunch was free steaks (normally $22) at Finnegan's. By 11:30 the parks start getting congested so after lunch we would head back to the room to sleep or swim.
I haven't stayed on the Club Level but I think they are all located in Tower 3. I haven't been able to justify the additional expense for Club for our use.
We stayed off-site at the Holiday Inn International Plaza and after talking USO extensively with the check in clerk, he gave us a USO view room from the top (14th) floor. He worked as a stilt walker during HHN. The room was nearly twice as big as RPR with a frig and microwave and cost $50 a night through Priceline. We could see the whole park and where they will be building the new hotels.
RyGuy can probably enlighten you about Club level accomodations. He is man when it comes to upgrades!

The 2 hotels were a rumor from an IOA employee who also talked in detail about the new wooden coaster. The hotels will have to be located between Adventures Way and Turkey Lake. I have heard one will have a Nickelodeon theme and the other an Egyptian theme. The coaster will be in the Jurassic Park area.

I need help requesting a standard king non-smoking room. What would be a good room to request. We would like a view of the parks and it would be nice to be close to the stairs, maybe as high up as possible--for a good view. Any suggestions?? Also, I understand that shampoo, lotion, etc. are left in the rooms. What about blow dryers, coffee makers (with coffee packs), and iron/ironing boards?

lburns-
Best views 1719-1733 odd or 1740-1754 even. The 7 is the floor so 6 or even 5 are OK as well. The 1 is the tower. 1733 is right by the stairs. But I would hate to walk up at night. 1733 is also the farthest from the elevator. I'm not sure which of those rooms are kings. They have everything you mentioned plus conditioner. RPR does not have bubble bath like PBH though.
MAG1630-
There are a few rooms in tower 3 that have both a pool and park view. RyGuy might have the numbers. I think that they are 4th floor because the suites are above them. I have stayed pool view and prefer the park view.

MAG1630,
The Presidential suites on floors 6 and 7 have themepark and pool views. These suites span the lengths of rooms 3628-3636 (even) and 3728-3736 (even). Any room on the 4th or 5th floor like 3428-3436 (even) or 3528-3536 (even) would have the same view. Any lower and you might have palm tree obstructions.

Hi,
Which standard view rooms are closest to the themeparks as my wife has arthritis and we would like to keep non-essential walking to a minimum.
Is there a link for a detailed map of the hotels and there surroundings ?

If you could get upgraded to a king suite, they are the first rooms off the elevators.
