are your points still available?

I am interested in a studio at the Boardwalk October 24-October 28. Looking at the Points Calculator, I think that's 45 points

Hi Bev,

It might be tough to reserve a standard view studio at the Boardwalk at 5 months out, especially with the food and wine festival happening around that time at Epcot.

I'm in the process of booking our April 2005 trip day by day to make sure we get standard view and would be happy to ask about availability when I next call on Monday, just let me know.

would the following week be any better do you think?

we are there from Oct 23 to Nov 6th and I have always wanted to stay at the Boardwalk and thought it was out of my price range. I just realised that mid week the point values are quite reasonable, so thought I might give it a try.
I don't really mind when, it's just more of a 'Ooh, wouldn't that be nice' rather than something we MUST do.

Normally I would have said yes, but the food and wine festival has been extended to 6 weeks this year, and that might have an effect on the November availability at the Epcot resorts.

No harm in asking on Monday anyway - i'll check out both weeks and let you know if there is any availability. If not, you can always give it a try on another trip.

thanks paul, if there's no availability then I won't bother looking around for points.

Hi Bev. I checked with DVC member services and i'm afraid they've got no standard studios free in either week. There was availability in a preferred studio on the nights of the 25, 26 and 27 - that's 12 points per night rather than 9, so still not bad value for points, but I guess it depends on how that fits in with the rest of your trip. Hope this all helps a little.

Thanks Paul - It was a lovely idea but I guess it is not to be this year.

While 3 nights at 12 points would still be a bargain, I don't think it is going to be worth the hassle of moving in and out for such a short time with 2 small kids. If it was just my DH and I then I would jump at the chance, but I know how much STUFF we accumulate, and 3 nights in the middle of our trip wouldn't really work.

However, I now know to look into this much earlier for our next trip :)

I know exactly what you mean about it not being worth the hassle for such a short period. We've done 1/2/3 night stays in the past and have been able to experience a number of the Disney hotels, but the whole process is quite different when you bring kids into the equation! After our last couple of trips with Ryan I can't imagine moving about mid-holiday, let alone what it will be like when number 2 arrives later in the year

If you ever need to check availability in the future i'm more than happy to help.
