DH and I returned from our first US /IOA trip a few days ago, and I just wanted to thank everyone here for all the invaluable info! We had the best time since our honeymoon!

A quick summary:
2 1/2 day trip without the kids (our first solo trip EVER since the oldest was born 8 years ago). Stayed at HRH which was cool, though I would like to try RP next time with the kids but because they don't have a slide at the pool, will probably end up at HRH again. Best feature: the unbelievable short trip to the parks! Worst feature: the horrible coffee!

Favorite Park: IOA, hands down
We also LOVED Citywalk

Favorite rides:
1) Spiderman and Dueling Dragons, tied.
2) BTTF for me, Hulk for DH (BTTF made DH sick, Hulk gave me a headache)
3) JPRA and Poseiden's Fury, tied
4) Jimmy Neutron for me, T23D for DH

Rides we found particularly lame:
1) Earthquake
2) ET

Ate at:
Louie's Pizza
Margaritaville
Mythos
Motown Cafe
Croissant Moon Bakery
Hard Rock Cafe

Favorite meal: Margaritaville for atmosphere, Hard Rock Cafe for food

Next trip: Looking into Sept, this time WITH the kids!

Awesome! I'm so glad you guys had such a great time.

Don't forget, you can always try Portofino Bay too. HRH is my kids' favorite hotel, but they think the slide at Portofino is even better than the one at HRH.

1) Earthquake

I have to agree with you on that one. I'm more than ready for an Earthquake replacement.

Ate at:
Louie's Pizza
Margaritaville
Mythos
Motown Cafe
Croissant Moon Bakery
Hard Rock Cafe

Sounds like you made some good dining choices. We all love Mythos, including both of my kids.

I'll be heading over to read your trip report(s). Thanks for the links.

EDIT: Well, that didn't post well for me. A bunch of my comments are now in with your quote. Sorry about that. I'll have to figure out how to comment within a quote. Help, anyone???

Your OLDEST is 8, and you went to Universal without your kids? Wow.

If you push the "post reply" button it won't leave the quote, but if you push the "quote" button it will.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to fragment the quote and be able to intersperse my own comments. I know I've seen others do this, so there's got to be a way. I just haven't figured it out.

Nothing wrong with that at all, its nice to spend time with your SO without having to deal with the kids every once in awhile.
