I had already booked HIFS with their Family Values package 11/6-11/13 at $150 a night (that includes $50 a night in food vouchers) - with 4 day Hoppers I was looking at around $1900 for hotel, Disney tix & most of our food.

I just got off the phone with Disney & booked the 5+2 days Dreammaker package for two connecting rooms at Pop Century for $2132.30 (this will of course include hotel & UPH, no food)

I've stayed at HIFS before & the food was tolerable but I've heard from the other board that this quality may have declined since my 2002 visit. I like the roomyness & the kitchenette. But by staying onsite I can go to the parks anytime I want (not just for the 4 day hopper = although we will still visit Universal/Sea World), early entry & two whole rooms to spread out...

What would you do?

I'm interested in the response to this as well. We're planning a trip later this summer and trying to decide between these two facilities!

I think I would pick the Pop. If you use the EE then it is easily worth the extra $ and you get the Disney Magic all the time.

Just a thought.....did you check the prices at HIFS with the Entertainment book? When I checked for our dates in Sept, we got pricing of $76 per night. Even if you ate $50 worth of food, it still saves you $20 per night.

I didn't think that we would use the $50 in food there. I kind of thought that we could use that money better on food at the parks.

I've not stayed at either place, so I can't really give an opinion on what you should do,but maybe this will give you more info to work with!

We (myself, wife, daughter 9, and twin sons 5, stayed at HIFS for the first four nights of our vacation in February and the last 5 nights at POP. The Hotel and room were nice at HIFS. The kids liked the bunk beds and the suite, although not huge was very nice. The pool and game room were big hits with the kids too. The Breakfasts were free and not too bad. The two smaller counter service restaurants, Pizza Hut and A&W, were kids eat free till 5:00 PM and good. The Club Car for dinner was rather dissapointing. I thought it was expensive for a really low end buffet. The location was also pretty convenient.

I enjoyed the stay at POP more because it is Disney 24 hours a day. Going back to the HIFS each day always seemed like you were leaving and just staying at a hotel. Staying at a disney hotel seems like you never leave the Disney Atmosphere.

We had 2 connecting room at POP so the two bathrooms were nice to have also.

Any other questions, ask away.
