Hey all,
I've had a rotten day today. My family is all sound asleep and I am wide awake. My fridge is calling my name but I am telling it to shut up. It just keeps getting louder. I know I'm not hungry just upset with the events of today and bored. Wish me luck!!

This may be of little consolation, but have you thought about writing out your frustration? Even one piece of paper, not a whole journal, where you can write and get your mind off the food. You could even just throw it away when you're done. I find if I can distract myself for just a few minutes, the temptation to eat goes away.

Good luck!

I've been in your situation quite a few times. I hope you were able to resist eating out of frustration.

Some things I do to keep my mind and body busy when I'm feeling like that are to: jump on the net with a big bottle of water; exercise; or try on some clothes in my closet that are too small or that I can't fit into anymore because they are too big. This one is a great motivator and usually by the time I finish trying on several pieces of clothing I feel like I have accomplished something and the voices in my head telling me eat have quieted a bit. Then I put a piece of sugar free gum in my mouth to keep it busy and that usually does the trick.

{{{hugs}}} to you!!!

I know it is hard, especially when you are up by yourself. I have honestly found that drinking ice water helps, it has to be nice and cold, lots of ice. I know that sounds strange, it certainly does not seem like a good substitute for chocolate cake or something really tempting.
I also eat a small snack like peanuts or even popcorn (which is not on my southbeach diet) keeps the craving down and gives me something to go with my hands when I am bored

I know exactly how you were feeling the other night. Did you make it through without giving in to the siren call of the fridge?
